Seems he made an impression for Barnsley in Div 1, none in the Prem, none back in div 1 and then good for Wigan in Div2. Seems on the slide to me.

Some people will find something to moan about with every player - Arjan De Zeeuw is a top quality centre half, who was one of Barnsleys best players.
The reason Wigan bought him was because they wanted to go up and spent a lot of money on certain players without ever getting the success. De Zeeuw would be an excellent signing as whatever people say we have a very fragile defence and until that is sorted we are not going to get anywhere.

We need to sign a centre half without doubt and I can see it only being one of him or Lucketti.

I know a wigan fan and he said he is class but has just signed a new 4 year contract. I think that Teamtalk are bringing up past news stories again

I can't find any news about a new contract for De Zeeuw - all the reports I see are about him wanting to move up a divison. Besides Wigan got him for free so I guess they might be happy to cash in on him while they have the chance.... the more I read about him the more I like though ... sounds a decent central defender...

De Zeeuw won many player of the year awards and was also there captain so I think he would be a great signing.
Newcastle were interested last season as well, so I think he is definately worth a look!

would be a good buy-go for it.

i thought he was a left-back,but in any case a quality,inspirational centre back is what we need.
