Would be the ideal game for Murray dare I say it, I just don't think Doyle is good enough/deserving to start such a game yet. On top of that I think Gayle needs protection, I think Everton away on his own up top against Distin and Jagielka would be a tough ask.
I would go with: ------------------Speroni----------------- Mariappa----Dann----Delaney---------Ward -------------------Jedinak-------------------- -----------McArthur----Ledley---------------- --Zaha----------Campbell-----------Puncheon

Gayle is too small and he can't lead the line without Chamakh behind him to win the aerial balls so beloved of Jedi and our CBs to then knock on to Gayley to run on to. Especially away from home. If Chamakh is fit then it's fine if not I'd side with Doyle and Campbell as it's going to a set piece or a punted ball I suspect and then have Gayley in the back pocket IF we can frustrate Everton and then make them press more to make the space that Dwight needs to be effective.

IF Chamakh is back, I think I'd go for:
---------------------Speroni------------------------ Kelly---------Dann----------Delaney--------Ward ----Macarthur------Jedinak---------Ledley--------- ---------------Zaha---------Chamakh-------------- ----------------------Gayle-------------------------- Subs: Hennessey Mariappa Williams Puncheon Bolasie Doyle Campbell We must tighten up in centre mid. There's no doubt that we have the personnel to be quite solid defensively. With Zaha, Chamakh and Gayle we will score goals. It's as simple as that. I'd give Zaha a free role, allow Chamakh to drop deep when we don't have the ball, and push him high up the pitch for the Delaney diagonals, with Zaha and Gayle lurking for the knock downs. I must admit, I am worried that with a lack of a targetman vs Burnley and the addition of Macarthur that we think we can play football and stay in the Premiership. We are not at that level yet. We need to be more solid and physical if we want to stay up. It's as simple as that. Gayle will score goals, no doubt about it, but I worry he's a bit of a luxury player and that we will concede more as a consequence because of not defending from the front, so I don't mind if Chamakh plays right up top and Puncheon replaces him. Must play the 3 in centre mid though.

Assuming Chamakh isn't fit I would go with
----------------Speroni----------------- Mariappa----Dann----Delaney---------Ward -----------McArthur--------Jedinak-------------------- Williams--------------Ledley------------Puncheon -----------------------Gayle------------------- Zaha probably is best launched from the bench as he is still getting match fitness back. A defensive side but one that should still be able to break at pace (partouclarly when Zaha comes on) and might retain the ball a little bit better than last season

Speroni Mariappa---Dann---Delaney---Ward Jedinak McArthur-----------Ledley Wilf---------------------------Puncheon ---------------Chamakh--------------- Though I would have Kelly in the back 4 and Gayle in if Chamakh isn't fit. Ledley is crucial |

Please no Jedinak, not good enough at the moment and a repeat performance against a far superior Everton side could mean us facing a heavy defeat.

Why are so many people changing the back 4 after we got our first clean sheet of the season with the same back 4 that were so successful last year?

The back four performance was made better by the fact that the man supposed to be protecting them (Jedinak) was so bad.

I never do this but
GK: Jules RB: Ward CD: Delany CD: Dann LB: Ledley/Kelly (prefer Kelly if fit? as hes a Red, will relish playing the Blue half) CM: Jedi (were away so hes a stopper) M: Ledley M: Mcarthur Lw/Rw: Wilf/Bolassie S: Gayle We need pace on the break hence Wilf Bolassie & Gayle, we need a passer of the ball in the middle, Ledley/Mcarthur, we need a good back 4 who know how to play together and in their proper positions (Kelly is unknown at LB? seem to do fine wherever he plays + what I said above) Jedi to protect (and play as a 5th Defender) Subs: Bannon Williams Doyle Puncheon Hangaland + 1? Drop Punch and go for pace from the start to try to get an edge, hes a great player but he can make a huge difference with holding the ball up if we gat our noses in front, just my Opinion
