People keep saying the start of the season has killed it a bit,and I can't really comment on home games from this far away, but it didn't sound bad today compared to a lot of games last season and probably the rest of the Premier League. The atmosphere at Newcastle was fine, although I accept we are usually pretty good away,we were just as good as normal.

I don't do boo-ing in any circumstances against anyone, but those in the Holmesdale that did at the end today were defo directing it at the officials, who were pretty pathetic today, well, the Referee was. I mean having booked Ings early on for faking it and diving, from then on a Bunrley player only needed to hover somewhere vaguely above the grass and the ref instantly blew up for a free kick and ultimately a Pen. Justice was done by Jules' superb save. The boo-ing was intended for the Ref. Let's please not start getting even more steamed up than we already are by back-biting, back-stabbing and genertally slagging each other foff for the sqke of a moan. Jeezuuusss, we got a 0-0 feckin draw against Burnley, and saved a friggin penalty, whilst missing loads of movvafriggin chances, so let's keep our cool. It wasn't our best performance but some of our players don;'t even know each other's names yet.

I thought during the game that it was a bit quiet, which would mean that somebody would start a BBS thread that told everybody what poor fans they were.
Normally words like "passion" and "pride" get bandied about by those who are critical, like some kind of poor advertising campaign. If you aren't singing or waving a flag about you aren't showing passion or have no pride. Surely you want to show passion or pride? You Nigel you. Maybe if three quarters of the ground were quiet it was the other quarter that was out of step? Maybe the people who are paid to entertain should have been entertaining today? Just a thought. And here's another thought. What kind of footballer only plays well if there is an 'atmosphere'?

Wasn't bad at all today I thought, but the players didn't really give us much to cheer about did they?

Im sure the knockers are having a virtual shag on line and a Chianti/Latte/etc as I post. Once again a stream of so called supporters doing a great impression of The Amex with 10 minutes to go not including the 3 minutes extra

Moved from the Arthur to the Whitehorse because I bought the kids season tickets this year. Looking like a mistake. Shocking atmosphere and as it's completely sold out with season ticket holders I can't see it getting any better.
I suppose I have to take my share of the blame as it's hard to sing etc. when you're surrounded by children under ten. |
