If McCall will come, we should take him, forget "the future manager" BS, that will take care of itself (if he does a good job, he will be favourite).
I would also like Popo, Sean Derry, Dyche, Uwe Rosler ... lots of decent candidates not yet available/not yet ready. But McCall would complete our backroom team and have an immediate effect. |

Motherwell fan at work tells me: "I heard on Friday that is was happening. Apparently a couple of the Motherwell Under-20 team were telling their mates it was a go-er."

Just noticed on SSN, McCall has stepped down as boss at Motherwell. Wonder if he will be at our match tonight?

Not good at all. More thinking along the lines of being part of NW's coaching staff, we already have Blackwell and I think McCall was part of the set-up at Sheff U too.

In the three full seasons he's had up there, they haven't finished outside the top three, despite losing a lot of players. That's pretty good going. Wouldn't want him to be the next manager necessarily, but I'm sure he'd be useful to Warnock at the moment.

If he takes an active role in training, expect a sudden spike in training ground injuries! Any survivors will receive large bonuses to their overall beast / dirty bastard ratings.

Outside of Celtic its like League 1 football - so don't consider that any good - what was his record like at Tut Blades? Can't Warnock work with anyone WHO HASNT been at Brambels Lane?

He was assistant to Warnock at Sheff Utd when they went up to the prem. Had a bad time of it as Bradford manager, though.

Wouldn't be so dismissive of him particularly if he's joining the coaching staff only to be groomed as a potential future manager. Low risk, and he's pretty well regarded by fans in Scotland as a manager despite his dreadful start to this season.
Much better manager than the likes of Neil Lennon and Ally McCoist but more importantly for Palace fans (If he does join) is that he's regarded in the game as being a pretty good coach too. Employed fast attacking tactics and looks for players with pace and that can hit on the counter and feed off a strong target man. |
