The word catering always brings a smile to my face when spoken in football terms.
Crystals was a bit crap yesterday, they run out of Cronx had NO bitter on tap the Strongbow has been changed to a "fruit" flavoured version, they ran out of bottles of Magners (changed from bottled Bulmers they had last year) and the queuing system they had seems to have gone (plenty of barstaff who know what they are doing though) they have sectioned off a whole area for a different "area" on club nights (It is a nightclub so that comes 1st) which has made it smaller with less seating, hope things improve over the next few home games or it's back to the pub and travel in again.

Which about sums it up, the people running the catering need to understand that we have not forgotten how much things cost just outside nor do we lose our sense of taste when we walk through the turnstiles, and overpriced pies may cut it for some but not everybody

Nothing to do with the original post, but I have nothing but praise for the patient, courteous and efficient staff in the Stephenson's Lounge. There, I've said it.

Absolutely no complaints of my h/t cheeseboard, petit fours, washed down with a beautifully bouqueted chateauneuf du pap in Speronis.

It`s all far too pricey for me which is why i don't buy anything, i don't know why more people don't take a packed lunch with them. Make the sandwiches the night before and then just add what extra bits and pieces you want such as scotch eggs, sardines etc. Drinkwise just take an empty vessel in with you and fill it up in the toilet sinks. You can have a relatively cheap day out (other than the match ticket) if you make preparations.

I am sure all those better off in the main stand are loving the surroundings and latte's but the rest of us are having to put up with nothing short of utter sh!te food served by utter sh!te service.

There are so few food outlets that the quality is always going to be terrible. Why would you bother making things better quality and lower priced. They are working at pretty much full capacity on shit quality high price. Why reduce the profitability if people are stupid enough to buy crap.

For a "family stand" the club certainly have no idea on catering for kids ... and not just on about the food.

2pm to 5pm is not a meal/eating time.Get rid of all the food in the stadium and dedicate the stalls/staff to making and serving drinks.Anything else served or desired in that timespan is rabid.End of

I don't know, a burger or hot dog and a cup of tea was a great half time lift when I was a kid, and you could get back to your slot on the Holmesdale in time for the second half. They just need to keep it simple.
Bought two cups of tea in the WH yesterday and it took a couple of minutes for them to just get two individually wrapped tea bags out. What's that about? With an urn and a box of bags you can make loads of tea in no time and way cheaper. Ditto when it comes to cranking out bottled beer. Maybe it really is that much better in the rest of the ground, but they could sell way more of everything in the WH with just a little more thought. |

I had a couple of pints of Sharp's Cornish Pilsner in the Holmesdale Upper, which was really nice and just the right temperature. However, at HT the beer bottle stand behind blocks A&B in the lower had no beer for sale! It appears that service varies wildly around the ground.
