Congratulations Terry.
Surely he should be offered a lifetime golden seat/throne at The Palace.

Terry has been a great servant to the Club and - in the past - has been under appreciated. Very often his hard work and dedication has been taken for granted. He was (is) a local lad, who was (and remains) a passionate Palace fan, who wanted nothing more than to work for the Club he loved.
Congratulations Terry on the 30th anniversary. |

He should be interviewed about his time at Palace. It would be fascinating. I wonder how many players and manager and have come and gone in his time. Someone do a list please, ta.

I would have gone for Alan Irvine myself, although, as I remember, Jimmy Cannon won quite easily. It was Steve Coppell's first season too - Aylott was sort of all we had that was anything near a decent striker - we had lost Stan Cummins earlier in the season, Phil Barber was just emerging and was mainly used on the other wing to Alan Irvine and then there was Tony Mahoney who was not that great either, don't want to really diss him as the poor lad has now passed away. Anyway, big congratulations to Terry. Can stiil remember him seving behind the counter with lovely Beryl Whitfield when he was a bright eyed teenager in our tiny Club Shop (which is now the nick-nack shop near Sainsbury's!) and his good mate Phil Chapman and of course good old Pete King, who helped Terry become the media genius he is today. Phew, what a 30 years it's been! Notice in the article that Noades was paving the way for the subsequent Groundshare, although he mentioned that pokey little club Chelsea instead of Charlton - whatever happened to them?

I remember him having a go at Goldberg, I believe he was one of 20-30 staff who lost their jobs at the end of his era.

46 lost their jobs in the Goldberg administration. Those that kept theirs went unpaid for a long period. Dreadful period of the clubs history
Pete King really gave it to Goldberg with both barrels at the Fairfield public meeting - brought up the £6m villa he had squirrelled away in his wife's name amongst other things. Goldberg (flanked with bodyguards) just squirmed.

Poor Terry, having to deal with us moaning fans on a daily basis for thirty years.
An outstanding achievement. A true piece of the Selhurst Park furniture. |
