I actually thought Dann was incredible except for the penalty, he was slightly unlucky that he could not get out of the way in time. He made so many vital blocks and he won so many headers, pure class.

I love the smile on Yanner's face - Palace's journey from the foot of the championship feels like his journey to me, the start from signing with us being bottom under Dougie - then at home to Sheff Wednesday and setting up our first win after losing our first three... to scoring his first top flight goal. Superb. Long may it last.

Ledley, Jedinek and McArthur looked a very good combination, I would play them every week home and away.
I think 4 5 1 or 4 3 3 however you want to call it suits the players alot better than 442 or 4411. |

Teams that have played in Europe mid-week, often start on the charge, hoping to put the game to bed early (before they start tiring) - like our first game against Arsenal and again today. It makes sense to play tight defensive stuff for the first half-hour.

Bolasie and Speroni were heroes today. More to come from McArthur and I agree with the comments posted that Chammy will ultimately inherit the lone striker role.
Until Chamakh is fit though, and particularly in away games, does anyone thing Doyle may be a shout? He held up the balls superbly well today and did well against Burnley. He's only done it for a limited time admittedly but perhaps it's time to try him if we're not playing Gayle up top? |

They scored the first goal then started to treat it like a training match. Passing it around with no purpose.

Agree that Ledley, Jedinak and McArthur is a great midfield but then what about Chamakh when he is fit?

Fantastic victory. The highs in football are much higher than the lows are low. Can't wait for the highlights now.

Yannick was great today; midfield was much better in second half as we took control. This was what I expected as we seem to be a strong team later in games. Especially as Everton ran themselves into the ground after their midweek Euro exploits..it worked out just as I hoped! Magic.

I keep close the memory of Bristol City fans writing us off and laughing at us for signing their worst ever player for £150,000... Delighted for Yannick

Just home from the game....... Let's just enjoy the moment for a little while without picking players out.
IMO while it is being said that we were crap in the first 20 minutes how many saves did Jules have to make apart from the goal was it just one from Omans who should have scored. I thought we looked far more solid today and I think the was due mainly to the return of Ledley beside Jed which made us a far better defencesive unit. The rest will come in the next few weeks once things settle. We have a stronger squad and with this same level of work ethic we'll be just fine

He should play in the position he has played for pretty much his whole career
