Have you ever considered that you might be wrong on this ? Unemployment is falling and interest rates are extremely low yet wages are stagnating for the low paid .

I could give a rats arse if Goldman Sachs moves its interests to Ireland or if the boss of Unilevers or Richard Bransons noses are out of joint. Will Starbucks or Google pay their taxes if we stay in the EU? Think you Socialists should look at some of the companys that wanted us to stay in

I also quite like democracy. I happen to think that if we accept the whole enchilada the EU wanted to foist on us it would pointless to register a vote at election time. Juncker and Tusk would be deciding for us. Haven't their one size fits all economic policies already done untold damage

I think we were sold a pup back in the 70s when I was a kid. I lost belief in the thing when it ceased to be a trading block and when Delors promised the EEC would bring socialism without the tiresome necessity of having to vote for it when and have wanted out since the EMU debacle

Last year I went to watch Palace at Swansea by train. The route as you will know goes through those towns that had just been told that a large chunk of their steel industry was about to go. All towns full of Labour voters who voted Brexit by the way. How ironic then that the EEC started as an Iron and steel trading area

I try not to insult anyones politics and I respect other peoples even if I disagree. I wish other people here would do the same
Good post.

The Hardcore Brexiters seem obsessed with teh idea that what will make it a success is "being optimistic". OBR isn't optimistic, BBC isn't optimistic. "Planning? Not necessary, haven't looked into it, don't need to, I'm optimisticmake ". How would they react if the Labour party produced a platform claiming a large increase in income tax would lead to massive economic growth based purely on optimism?

Imagine the fun the opposition would have with these idiots of teh king idiot wasn't in charge?

I have waded through that lot too and thank the gods I am not a moderator.

Most of it was exchanges between in exile and others. Having had recent exchanges with him in the last 24 hours, I can see he is one of those hopeless cases. His trolling style and mindless quips degrades any intelligent debate. His responses are not worth the pixels wasted on your screens.

I refuse to feed this troll anymore, and on ignore he goes.

In Brexit news. The curates egg?

How the U.K. Has Beaten Predictions of a Brexit Crunch So Far

The road to Brexit has been littered with inaccurate economic forecasts.

"Since the U.K. voted to leave the European Union in June, growth has surpassed expectations on the strength of consumer spending, defying projections just after the vote for two quarters of contraction and barely any expansion through much of 2017. Economists still see a slowdown, albeit gentler, and many warn that the impact will be protracted.ustifying the stimulus, Carney in August warned the U.K. was entering a “protracted period of heightened uncertainty. While that’s true -- and there’s still a lack of clarity about the Brexit deal -- policy maker Kristin Forbes warned in September that the bank may have miscalculated the impact of that uncertainty. The BOE has subsequently raised its projection for 2017 twice, though it retains a more cautious view of 2018. One thing the economists got right is inflation. The pound has taken a 17 percent hit since the EU vote and that, along with higher oil prices, is pushing up the cost of imports. The rate of inflation has tripled since last summer and economists have become even more pessimistic about the outlook.

Having previously seen price growth hovering around the BOE’s 2 percent target this year, the median forecast of economists is that it will now push close to 3 percent."

You do love your made up stats, don't you? Care to provide a source for this? I'd be surprised if you have one because as far as I can see, companies like Nero, Starbucks etc don't hold data on the nationality of their employees.

In contrast, the Labour Force Survey has data on the share of employment by sector of foreign citizens. From that we know that for the retail sector for food, drink & hospitality, the share of the workforce that is foreign is 1.6%.

When Stuart Rose was nearing the end of his time at Marks & Spencer - the business was in serious decline - he said that it wasn't all down to him. It was the fault of the rest of the board for not seeing the warning signs. What he failed to mention was that in the previous years he put in place a culture where it was in no one's interest to question the company's direction. You just wouldn't get a seat at the table if you didn't talk positively about the company.

Figures this morning certain track with this - we're above 2% inflation now, and that looks like an upward trend, with pound weakness having a delayed effect.

Prior to that Rates had been low already for 7 Years. 7 YEARS!
BOE wanted Inflation to increase.
The RATE should never have been moved down last August.

Thanks ReIdiots.

Yep inflation rate in Germany went up too, not to mention inflation rate rises in Belgium, Estonia and Hungary, not to mention the inflation rate for the EU area also rose. Mainly due to energy price rises of course as well as alcohol and cigarette increases. Well done #Brexit Oh its not all down to #Brexit. Blame #Brexit anyway.....

And why were they so low? because the banking system busted the real economy....and that event was turned into an austerity attack on public services and living standards...which translated into - its all the fault of the EU and migration....you voted to harm yourself even more...
