We are not going down.

We played well for 70 mins today, and were unlucky. We were unlucky on Tuesday. Our luck will change soon.

I totally get the point you are making. In the long-term (assuming we stay up) there is increased financial stability for the club, and a chance to improve.

On the other hand, our recent form/play has been very poor, and based purely on league position, you could argue CPFC are going backwards. Particularly when this is perhaps the poorest PL since it started.

Even Watford are above us

We won't go down. Wilf and Yannick will get us enough points and we will get some luck along the way. But this shouldn't hide the chronic deficiencies we have in the squad and management.

I would agree with those who say Villa are down but it is by no means certain that Newcastle, Sunderland or Norwich will join them. Sunderland with Defoe have every chance of staying up. Norwich have played well but have still lost - like us they have goalkeeping problems. Newcastle have the players if they can find some form. it looks tough for us. Hard to see us doing much against the likes of Leicester and Arsenal. Looking grim.

We might go down this year but we most likely won't.

Am I 'resigned' to relegation? Of course not.

For us to go down two out of the bottom four need to win half their games.Possible but unlikely.

Stop this nonsense. We aren't going down. I will have a bet with anyone on this. PM me the terms.

For an hour we were fine then Mccarthy made his mistake and we lost it. Sign of a lack of confidence.

Being unlucky is just such a shit excuse for being, well, shit really.

We were not unlucky today. We failed to put away a weak Liverpool side who were down to ten men for the last 30 plus minutes. Not only did we not put them away, we lost from a winning position.

That's **** all to do with luck

the next problem we are going to have to face is that something is going to happen at Newcastle very soon, so we could be playing them with the novelty of a new manager although I think they'd beat us ATM whoever was in charge but it makes their run in far more advantageous for them, I think we'll be down with Villa and Sunderland

certainly not resigned to relegation but we at times seem to play poorly and even when we play well seem to have no luck either another player injured or poor ref decisions or individual mistakes etc so i think it is certainly possible.I keep believing that surely our luck has to change at some point? but really since losing to bournemouth i have thought we just need to hope the teams below us dont pick up decent form.its a smaller group now and its surprising how many of the bottom 6 still have to play each other.
games against bottom 6 teams left:
palace 2
swansea 2
sunderland 2
norwich 3
newcastle 5
didnt bother with villa!
if we won those 2 we are pretty much there i think but who knows?its never dull being palace

I think Mr Bolasie will need to up his game a bit, judging by today!

^this.

Luckily as we've learned in the last 2 seasons, you only need to be 'good' for half a season, and this season we did three quarters of the job by Christmas!

If we miss our best chance of Wembley in a generation though, I'll be properly pissed off

Agree, sick of the "unlucky" comments as well as the "it's just a blip" statements. We have an inept manager and to be honest we should have known what was to come after his performances at the other clubs he has managed. His tactics and substitution have been laughable and in the last three months we have lost to all those clubs fighting relegation bar Swansea, Newcastle and Norwich, of course we still have to play the last two, but I'm not holding out hope. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a plan B as and when things go awry on the pitch. It would be sad to see us waste the last two years by getting relegated, especially with the financial windfall being handed out next season to premiership clubs. Even if we manage somehow to stave of relegation this year, l am fearful of what will happen next year. Parish talked the talk whist courting the Americans, but the clubs lack of ambition in the January transfer window was laughable and plain for all to see, more so as we knew exactly what type of players we required to address the downward spiral. Unfortunately, we have far too many average players in the squad who lack the quality required to provide cover as and when injuries occur! Basically we have been found lacking and there was an element of arrogance from both Parish an Pardew in January as both felt the job had already been done, how wrong they were. Should we end up being relegated, the clubs management will only have themselves to blame. I have supported Palace for over 50 years and l am amazed how we make the same mistakes time and time again, will we ever learn?

Unless we get hit with a few more injuries to key players...we don't have any quality in depth.
