Pretty effective in Prime Ministers Question Time when I've heard her. Not that that's the key requirement for being a good leader/PM, but it sure helps.

That was against Gideon. I don't mind her,but don't see her as leader. She won't beat Corbyn in a run off anyhow.

Yeah, it's only Osborne, but I think she performs well, and noticeably better than Corbyn.

Tom Watson, behind her, seems to be enjoying it anyway

You really are confusing members with voters, who are not the same thing. Corbyn will lead labour to electoral disaster.

Nasty horrible vicious woman who looked bloody stupid in her remain debates, still she is probably better for voters than Corybn.

The reality is that if Corbyn is not on the ballot paper, there will be a split in the party. If Corbyn is on it, then he will win, and a split is less likely, although not impossible.

And Corbyn is not 'way of his depth'? He has acted like a petulant child in recent weeks, didn't really campaign in the referendum (you could tell he doesn't really believe in the EU and there is tons of evidence to support this from the past) and he has created a even more divisive atmosphere in the party.

I agree that Eagle is not leader material. If I were Labour, thank goodness I am not, the only candidates that seem to fit the bill are Jarvis or Benn, if Labour really want to win an election.

However, I am not convinced that Labour do want to win an election. I think they are like the BBS. They appear to want to sit around having a 'look at me' debate about who is more socialist rather than doing anything meaningful.

Dont kid yourself if he is on and wins then there will be a split. I dont see how he can be kept off ,legally maybe but your right it would be a stupid approach leading to a split.
The hope is he does the decent thing and resigns the left put up a candidate that is at least capable of leading the party. That means compromise from both sides and I dont see much of that from the far left.
Forget the argument that the PLP should represent the Labour members, they were elected by millions of ordinary voters on the manifesto of that time. I was one (unlike some now trying to take over the party). I am more than happy for the PLP to stand up to the left wing coup.

I happened to recently change my mind over Corbyn, as a consequence of his performance during the referendum, on behalf of the remain campaign. Having said that, I will not be voting for Eagle, as she has a voting record on previous issues upon which I disagree.

My post that you responded to, was a prediction with no political slant, and just an acceptance of the likely reality of a very sad situation for my party.

Actually I'm really not, being both an affiliate member and voter myself. Leaving him off any ballot paper would disenfranchise many, many people. It might please a few others I suppose. Corbyn might well not win a GE, but then neither would almost all of the others.

Always interested to hear suggestions of alternatives that could beat him in a democratic and fairly, openly debated leadership contest (as opposed to a petty, spiteful, coup) though.

If Corbyn hangs on till 2020 I imagine the PLP will reflect the (recent) membership. It'll just be a much, much smaller PLP.

Iceland and New Zealand have had openly lesbian PMs in the past (or present not really kept up) and I don't think we are much different from them. She should change her hairstyle as conjuring memories of Boris Johnson is probably not what you want to do in the current political climate.
