There's always 1 club that drops like a stone. I thought it would be watford but after their win at Arse i'm not so sure. Could be Bournemouth. I think we did the best out of the clubs at the bottom during the window. Relying on 1 player to score goals is a valid point; we worry about Benteke getting injured but sunderland have no one if defoe gets crocked; I am more confident we will stay up now but Hull looked good against the moaners last Wednesday. So for me it's Sunderland Hull and Middlesboro

Southampton now that they've lost a centre half?

All of whom have yet to visit Selhurst. Which could be a good thing. Or a bad thing . . .

Swansea winning at Anfield is what can happen. No team is cut adrift and two wins can change everything if we get our second that would give us much needed momentum.

Right - a win today and suddenly it will all look a lot more rosy although we will still only be 1 point ahead of schedule although 39 is definitely beginning to look over the top and 37 should be enough.

We are gone. Of that I am 99% sure. We deserve to go down. The worst bunch of gutless players in our history. They should be ashamed after today. Totally inexcusable.

Looks like 3 from six but a couple above them are in freefall. Really tight though. 2 points in it. We need to stay in the fight if we can but this one hurts. Got to hope the new signings can lift the belief of the existing players, but they are all in a real fight with 42 points to play for. Time to beat Stoke as always next.

What other teams do is irrelevant. We are losing. If we make 25 points I will be surprised.

So now on for about 36 points if we make the ones that I suggested we would have to. 36 points could easily be enough - however we don't look like making the points from the remaining games to keep us on target and we are running out of games to make up points in any kind of realistic setting. I'm looking at the next four games and wondering how on earth I was optimistic enough to suggest we could get a draw with spurs and the two home matches to Boro and Watford are big pressure game and our side just seems to crumble under that pressure.

I want us to stay up, I really do! But can anyone see us getting the points we need? The players say the same 'we go again next week' sh*** every week, and we adjust our calculations accordingly. It will be a sort of relief when it's done.

I am now properly resigned to The Championship, but compensated with the knowledge that there are so many games I will be able to go to with friends supporting teams in that Division, who don't moan about everything, have more than a Sky Sports provided knowledge of the game, and share the humour in adversity that we used to have.
