Yep, I got a degree from LSE several years ago but in actuarial science so not hugely related to economics.

Reinvestment is about growing your business, which is fine, but at some point investors will want a profit

Why will investors want a profit? They might want a loss so they pay no tax. They might want more investment. They might want their capital back and little else.

A million young people have registered to vote since election was called. Tories won't be happy about that.

On another point trying to look for positives that this isn't a foregone conclusion; will the 'shy voters' this time around not be the Tory ones but 'Corbyn shy voters' instead?

I think this is a valid point. The polls will probably show too much weighting for Tories and none for Labour right up to the final campaign day. The pollsters realy cannot afford another cock up.

It seems that Corbs socialist manifesto is picking up support from Greens and Libs.

Corbyn should have agreed to the electoral alliance from those parties, then they could have had all the votes, which we will most definitely need to keep May's majority down.

Without wishing to piss on your chips, there were stories like this just before the EU referendum, after the deadline to register was extended.

Didn't go so well

I don't think it works like that. You can't just stand down and command all your supporters to vote for another party.

I do think this is possible. Having slagged Corbyn off for two years, I'm going to meekly fall in line and vote Labour again. I should imagine there are a few shy Labour people like me who thinks Corbyn would be a terrible PM and wouldn't want to shout about it.

Historically the polls have never overestimated Tory support and only ever over estimated Labour support.

In fact yougov's own analysis of its methodology changes still had a 3 point under estimate for the Tories.

The first statement is widely known. Ukpollingreport go on about it endlessly. The second one, well one of the pollsters who have the Tory gap larger than the others have taken a slightly more aggressive approach to the likelihood to vote situation by demographics which the others haven't followed (as much) which is consistent with the statement.

Edit: found this from yougov, suggests 1.4% of the 2015 election unexplained (and now unadjusted for), also states they found zero evidence of why Tories. To view the link you have to Register or Login

It would be helpful to know Jackie Applebee's political persuasion - e.g. if she is drinking from the same cup as cdm61, her opinion is pretty much irrelevant because she will never provide a balanced view.

And, of course, there is also the issue of her supporting an organisation that she is likely to be seeking considerable remuneration from in future years.

And, of course, the "Please retweet" line at the bottom rather gives away that this is yet more leftie propaganda masquerading as fact.

It would help if she was telling the truth. Quite a few European countries, including Poland and Ireland, have fewer doctors per head.

"Get the truth out there"??!! A good idea in theory.

You do know that the Tories have committed more money to the NHS in their manifesto that labour have?

I should add that the GPS are ridiculous. They are self employed and pay themselves way more money than they used to. Perhaps if they wern't coining it for themselves there would be more to go round. My father is a recently retired GP and he was appalled by what goes on in General Practice. The NHS trust in Croydon had covered up plenty of fraud by GPS.
