Turned down a deal worth 3-5k/week at Sheffield United (according to this) to sign for Portsmouth, which goes to show the continued farce of their administration.

Pompey argued their wage budget made their squad "competitive" but for a club supposed to be watching pennies it was a strange transfer policy they went for in the summer. With relegation almost certain now, I imagine they'll scale down again this month.

TRANSFER LATEST
Six players leave League One Portsmouth following the expiration of their contracts.

Mustapha Dumbuya, Jon Harley, Brian Howard, Lubomir Michalik, Luke Rodgers and Lee Williamson have all departed.

Caretaker boss Guy Whittingham says: "Some of these players might have been expecting it, but it wasn't nice news to deliver. We thank them for their efforts while they were here and wish them all the best for the future."
