Well, it's happened, I'm a dad. Jasmine was born Nov 28th by emergency c-section, 4 & 1/2 weeks early, weighing 4lb 6oz. She was born with a TOF (look it up, too much to type. To do with the trachea & oesophegus) & has been in the Childrens Intensive Care unit in Leicester since she was born. 2 operations later and the TOF still isn't fixed, so we're going to be in Leicester for at least the next 10 weeks to allow her to grow a bit before they try to fix the oesophagus again. Jasmine is as tough as hell and absolutely beautiful. She's amazed the nurses with how well she's coped with everything and is now off of the ventilator, breathing completely unassisted. She's being fed through a tube directly into her stomach and is coping very well. The surgeon is an absolute legend. He's really taken her under his wing and pops up to see her daily. We are very lucky.

So, I'm the happiest man in the world. I have a phenomenally beautiful daughter. I will have a bit of a wait before I bring her home, but when I do she'll be fully fixed and we'll be a very happy family.

Hugest congratulations ! I still rember that sense of utter elation, carrying each of my children for the first time around the maternity ward. Fingers crossed that the TOF gets sorted out as soon as possible. It wil be a wonderful Christmas for you - savour it !
