Can't believe the knicker-wetting negativity.

Things could be so much worse - we could be Villa or Newcastle.

We will stay up and that will be another significant achievement for us.

Yes we could be doing better but we have done worse in the past.

A. We won't need 40 points.

B. Relegation being a 'possibility' certainly doesn't mean we should be resigned to it.

We are the villa of the second half of the season. We haven't won in 12 games and our manager just threw away game we were winning against 10 men... Yeah let's all be happy.

We'll stay up, but the big concern is how attractive a club do we look to players. 3months ago we were looking like a club that was going somewhere. Who would come to us in our current predicament, and why would Bolasie and Dann stay?

Palace have never had more than 4 consecutive seasons in the top flight and I doubt that record will be broken any time soon.

That said, I think we will stay up this season...but only just.

After today's result it would be easy to assume that 'fate is against us'. Just as we had massive slices of luck in our 2003-04 season to get promoted.
AP has to raise morale and confidence, and get some players on a 'Slim-Fast' diet.

I'm not complacent about survival, but fate is still in our own hands,...or at least Pardew's hands,....and the referee's hands, ,...and the groundsman, tea-lady,..etc etc

Come Tuesday, everyone will be a little less hysterical....perhaps

That's just not true though. He took a risk with those changes only after the keepers slip had cost us the lead and he was trying to get it back. We were not winning when he made the changes.

I don't quite go that far but I do think we have enough to get us over the line. And, being Palace, the points we need will probably come when we least expect it.

I'm no where near resigned to relegation nor do I consider it our fate. I'm getting really p1ssed off and frustrated with the shocker of a run we are on though. Everything seems to be going wrong doesn't it?!

The good news is we have 33pts on the board and a vastly superior gd compared to some of the teams below. Villa are done. Newcastle and Norwich have to win 3 and draw 1 of their last nine and us lose all our games as it stands- that's if we lost all our games. I can see us getting a win or three draws in there somewhere (at least) - that means those teams have to win 4 and draw 1 of their last 9 games and I'm not sure they will do it. I'll also be dumbfounded if this shocker of a run continues - everything crossed it doesn't.

We will scrape by as long as we avoid injuries to Dann, Cabaye, Bolasie and Wilf. The biggest loss might be if Cabaye is out during the run in...we just don't have prem standard centre mids without Cabaye and McArthur. Not addressing this reality during the January transfer window was a huge mistake. Mutch is not adequate. Lee can play a role off the bench and help us with possession but physically is not strong enough. Ledley is ok if paired with Cabaye or McArthur. Jedi has last a yard of pace.

Hopefully we can play CaJedley through the rest of the season if McArthur is still out, and hopefully Pardew realizes that approach gives us the best chance of success right now. Keep Mutch off the pitch.

Let's hope for the best.

There is sense of inevitability about our plight now. Last min goals Vs Sunderland and last kick of the game loss today plus dodgy penalty against Watford when 2 more blatant penalities not given Vs WBA ....means things are conspiring against us. This is what happens to teams in the relegation scrap.

I am now really scared we are looking at repeat of 1992-1993 when most thought relegation was impossible but we went down even after being 8 point clear with three games to play for Oldham and 2 games to play for us.

They won't.

However, Dann's form has taken a real dive so not sure Chelsea will be so interested in the summer.

Still the best points return for a Prem season at this point for us ever isn't it?
