What a revisionist.

He spent 40 million and lost quite a few games in spectacular fashion culminating in the Sunderland debacle where the Chairman had to step in and give the players a bollocking.

He looked out of his depth at times and it was only with Sakho that we improved and then we regressed after he got injured.

BFS knew he would find it difficult, if not impossible, this season so reneged on his contract and resigned. Don't give me the bollocks about the Manchester bombing being the cause of his resignation.

I can't get the hero-worship of him.

Pardew is poison, both on and off the pitch. History at other clubs has shown that. He is a very lucky man to have had some of the players he had at his disposal. A phsycopathic fraud.

He wouldn't necessarily have had a choice. The manager never has total control over transfers.Allardyce was lucky in the sense that we backed him significantly in the transfer window he had.I'm not one for big spending but I was hoping de Boer would be allowed to improve the squad. However it came about,we haven't.

Of course it's not up for debate.Allardyce achieved what was asked of him here and that's good enough for me and enough to achieve a hero's status according to some on here. What I'm saying is that our current manager should be afforded the same leeway as anybody else would be.We have key players missing, and as you rightly pointed out,any manager with key players missing would struggle. This is why I find the calls for de Boer to be sacked after 3 games in charge laughable and short sighted. He wasn't even my first or second choice but give the guy a chance.Allardyce was given a chance and he did well.

Because he got us to an FA Cup final ? Where he got his tactics absolutely arse about face and lost an extremely winnable game. And nearly took us down in the process.

Kept us there as well, mostly with a bunch of cast offs. Ironically it was only when we started lobbing out big money that we were relegated.

Yea maybe, and I'm not the biggest Sam fan but one of the things he did straight away was address the obvious holes in our squad, as he said, you need at least two players for every position. I fully believe as the pragmatic Manger he is, he would have at least got that done.
