Point away yes - but they didn't have a go at Leicester. Especially with their weakened team.
I do wonder if during the game he gave up hope of catching us and went for the well known respect the point with the hope of catching Swansea.
Someone else pointed out that the near art of avoiding relegation involves having players and a manager who have been there before and know how to battle out of the drop. Matches this time of the season for those looking to escape are won with performances that show grit and determination and a little luck. Its about going out and battling pretty football will not do it. West Brom only of the bottom three are currently showing they understand this.

This is so true. Remember back in 2010 when we survived despite the 10 point deduction. It was the type of characters that Warnock had brought to the club that got us through - more than Paul Hart’s tactics.

Harsh on Paul Hart but definitely right about the characters in the team. Some of them were of course also very decent footballers but players like Matt Lawrence, Calvin Andrew and Jonny Ertl were not going to win any awards for their talents.

A point at Leicester at an earlier stage in the season would be considered good.

But you’re right that settling for that now (ie respecting the point) might be too little too late for Southampton. Their next 3 fixtures are harder, so if they get little from those they will be under huge pressure to win their last two.

I guess they were sick of taking the lead and then losing. But the more cautious approach is unlikely to save them, as clubs around them will pick up 3 point wins.

I think Yoda has confused the FA cup semi final for a league fixture.

1 win in 21 league matches for Saints , so I read on BBC, and that was against West Brom.
