Is anyone familiar with Adam Ryland? He's a games developer who has produced a series of games based around the world of Pro-Wrestling.
Anyways he's jumping on the MMA bandwagon and has begun work on his new game tentatively titled "World of Mixed Martial Arts". Could end up been very interesting. More information can be found - To view the link you have to Register or Login

As if it was in any doubt... the Pride/Fertitta thing has now been officially announced by all parties.
Sounds interesting. Competitive rivals but not business rivals. The occasional cross promotional champion vs champion match. Unified rules. Unified weight classes. Pride to maintain their scoring system whilst promoting in Japan.

I can't believe GSP has lost! I'm gutted. Don't get me wrong, I think Serra is great, and a top bloke to boot, but seeing that smarmy t**t Hughes chuckling in the crowd made me feel even more for GSP. Nice to see Serra have his moment in the sun, but hopefully GSP will come back and dominate the Welterweight division for years to come.

He didnt just lose he got battered, although it did look like he slipped before he got hit. Fair play to Serra for his self belief.
The Sanchez fight was a big let down after the build up you guys and the UFC gave it on the night. I though the Garcia vs Huerta (sp?) was easily the fight of the night.

Sanchez looked like he'd regressed two years. He was the same lumbering, nervous kid who competed on TUF, nothing like the person who's demolished the likes of Karo Parisyan since his victory on the show. God knows whats happened, maybe spending too much time with Nick Diaz has taken its toll on him, he looked very very poor. Although it was boring, it was a professional job done by Koscheck though. Another former TUF fighter who looked completely out of sorts was Mike 'Quick' Swick. He looked scared of getting too close to his opponent and was deservedly beaten, again God knows why the ref didn't stop it when Okami mounted and pounded him for the best part of 30 seconds, i think he hit the nail on the head when he said about the "hometown boy mentality" in his post fight interview. Looking forward to seeing both Huerta & Garcia fight again though!

So many crazy upsets this year. I doubt even Matt Serra picked Serra to win.
Diego fought like he did against Alessio, but no dodgy decision this time. Koscheck is just boring. Good luck to the UFC selling a PPV with him headlining against Serra. Pride 34 turned out to be a good card, most of the fights are up on dailymotion.com. A few highlights if you haven't seen 'em yet. Don Frye Vs James Thompson (best stare-down ever!): To view the link you have to Register or Login Arona Vs Sokoudjou: To view the link you have to Register or Login Aoki Vs Lo-A-Njoe: To view the link you have to Register or Login |

Nog joining the UFC was pretty big news aswell. As much as I'v enjoyed him in Pride he'd reached a bit of a deadend, winning the UFC title is probabley the only way he's going to get another shot at Fedor.
Best match of the weekend was IMHO Zelg Galesic vs Makoto Takimoto.. To view the link you have to Register or Login |

Anyone watch TUF5 last night? Looks like there's going to be some early rounds of dross whilst the naff fighters are quickly eliminated. There appear to be some big personalities and fireworks in the house so should be quite entertaining viewing.
Matt Serra looks tiny at welterweight. When he loses his title he should fight at lightweight

I saw it but so far just a lot of over posturing by muppets. Still it should be entertaining when they start kicking off in the house. BJ Penn was quality with the "who wants to be with me and have nothing to do with..." line

That Cory looks like an A1 tool. Giving it the biggun, then not fighting, what a joker! I bet he's absolutely useless in the cage.

Was he the lanky muppet that was running around barking and giving it the large?

This season's Ultimate Fighter's gonna be awesome. Can't wait for Nate Diaz to flip out. Glad they got rid of Lobster man first off. I think Pulver's team is better now, but we'll see if Penn can coach up his side. To view the link you have to Register or Login

I might actually make an effort to watch this series of TUF, does BJ's training involve sending out for pizza and watching Enter the Dragon?
Between this and the Pride LW GP(rumoured to be featuring some UFC fighters) looks like that little guys are going to dominate the next few months. |
