This should have been introduced many years ago for the benefits it offers allround would be clear to see.
All we would need to do is aim for a Two week break in January AFTER the New Year fixtures are played which is something we need to maintain as it has been part of our tradition.
By having that mid season break would have so many advantages, like allowing players a much needed rest and coming back refreshed after the crazy Christmas programe, then allowing minor injuries to be seen to and also recovery periods. Pitches can be repaired so as to be back to its best playing surface, also allowing fans to come back refreshed and anxious to seeing football again after the break.
All we would need to do to "catch" up is introduce mid week games which would involve at most 2/3 games to be rearranged, no real hardship is it? but the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages.
The rest do it, why are we failing to adapt for something that makes sense.
