Interesting, have Milan confirmed Seedorf as new head coach or is that vacancy still there? Cortese to rock up in Milan and then come knocking for Pocahontas?

Big loss because of the manager and players they have that really look up to Cortese and have bought into his vision for the club.
This season might not be too badly affected, but Southampton may well have just smashed their head on the glass ceiling and start dropping back down. |

Could be another fall for them if nobody comes in and buys them

If the owner sells and pulls out their fortune which has bank-rolled their spending then they are in a right financial meltdown as they must have huge overheads.
Maybe we can put in a cheeky bid for Clyne and Fonte. What comes around goes around as Southampton fans have given us loads of stick and bragged about how much money they have, well maybe not much longer. |

Did Cortese resign because he learned that the Leibherrs want out ?
They won't have any trouble selling - let's hope the new owner is an American tight-wad (Randy Lerner stylee). |

Probably as good a chance to sell as any. Southampton looking in a position just behind the top few clubs, traditional heavyweights or big spenders. Are they likely to break that group. Cortese's plans were big, developed ground, the whole area around the ground owned by and developed by the club, but the investment would be huge, and Leibherr obviously didn't want to go down that route. |

In all seriousness, there can't be a huge amount that are. I would love to know who is debt free and In the black out off all professional clubs. It can't be many!

The more money that is pumped into the game the more that is sp**ked on players wages agents fees trandfer fees etc exceeding the income. No business is run like football. It wouldn't be a business for long if it was.

He would have to find a seriously wealthy backer but I believe he was emotionally invested in the long term plans, so can he luck out again and find another billionaire who is will to lose a substantial amount of their money?

Possibly, he was a swiss banker so he must have a pretty long list of seriously wealthy people.
