No Benzema in the team. Injured or off?

Is that even possible?!At least 17 of the Premier League grounds have no atmosphere at all. They might be bad,but how could they be worse?

Real Madrid playing like they have all had a massive bet on a nil nil draw.

(But overall the atmosphere at Pl games is easily better overall compared to Spain) I've been to a few El classico's at Camp Nou.... When the announcer is reading out the Madrid team the boo's / whistling is very loud..... But after that given there is 98,000 fans in the stadium the atmosphere is disappointing. What doesn't help is that away fans don't really travel to away games. I was at Elche last season, zero away fans... they didn't bother opening the away end (we tried buying tickets in there). Espanyol's new ground is lifeless I have been to Barca v Espanyol a few years ago when Barca needed to win the last game to win the league, Espanyol equalised last minute.... The 27 away fans celebrated (I had counted them during the game). 27!!! They are in the same City! But as I've said... A few grounds it is a decent atmosphere

It's true away fans don't tend to travel in Spain. In a lot of cases it is understandable given the distances to travel and the fact the Spanish aren't exactly well off either.
But 27 away fans for a local derby is actually quite ridiculous. When I went to Sevilla vs Celta Vigo there was a small band of Celta fans, probably no more than 50-100. But Vigo to Sevilla is probably 8-10 hours travel time, and it was a 10pm kick off. We went from my sisters near Gibraltar and that 2.5 - 3 hour drive felt like it took forever.

What's the go with the ridiculously late kick off times in Spain? I've heard of games finishing at 1 in the morning and it makes absolutely no sense to me why they do that to the players and the fans. Is it a TV thing?

By the time the game finished, we walked back to the car and drove home I think we got back about 3am.

Yes 10pm is fairly normal especially the hot months.
I went to a Barca game years ago that kicked off at midnight

Been to the Estadio Municipal de La Linea de La Conception. Great ground with a great view... Two sides never get used as the stadium is 20,000 but they never get far enough in the cups to draw a big team.

Television - a higher % of matches are televised and different channels have the rights. So on Sundays you get one match after another. Weather - at this time of year some parts of the south are just too hot for mid afternoon games. |

Thought the Gijon fans were impressive last night, booed Ronaldo on mass too which was great.
My missus is from Caceres, surprised CP Cacereño is such a small club given the size of the city, recently traveled around the South West and realise why Seville/Betis games have as late a kick off a possible. Damn hot. |
