Celta joiny top and Bilbao rock bottom. Just goes to show reading the league table this early into a season is pretty pointless. Hope Betis have a good season, such a massive club but they were dreadful last time they were in La Primera.

Why have Sky Sports stopped showing Revista de La Liga and just have a generic highlights show now?!

Thankfully the 10pm kick offs will be few and far between this season. It was stupid last year. The LFP are pathetic.

They announced the fixtures. Then 2 weeks later they changed the dates. Then a week later they changed them again. This after publications had come out and with Malaga, people booking flights to away games, or home games if coming from the UK.

They also don't announce days and kick off times until about a month before the game.

The Spanish FA is a shambles. Wankers.

I was at that one. Good first half, then ran out of steam. Next round next Wednesday against Gijuelo. Visca Lleida!

Where is Lleida? Without looking I have a feeling it is up sort of between Catalunya and the Basque country?

Half way between Barcelona and Zaragoza. Near the border with Spain.

Just reading through a few bits and pieces the last few days, it's crazy in Spain and Italy how many clubs get into debt and fold then a new club is reborn. Doesn't tend to be that common in England. I remember the original Lleida team, and I was reading about Logroñes yesterday as they were in the Primera Division the first season I got in to Spanish football, and since 1995 the club has dissolved and reformed at least twice, maybe even three times.

I think since Venezia were in Serie A in the mid - late 1990s the club has also gone into liquidation and reformed three times. What do these nutters do with all the money?

These days clubs suffer because of the mess of TV rights. Is all about to change but Barcelona and Madrid have always taken half of all TV money in the top division between them. Lower division clubs don't have any money filtering down and of course many will have been run and still are by dodgy owners. Things will be fairer now. Ish. Except for the dodgy owners.

What money? Lleida whose debts were written off only manage to tick over with subsidies from the local council. Other teams have debts to service as well. As Chocky says the tv money is a stitch up.

Spain is a big place, so maybe the distance put them off?

100% true. (There was the odd one or two who cheered in the home end aswell)

Think I've already mentioned, but I went to see Elche play last season... the away end was closed
