Not saying I agree with all that the OP said, but I agree with the spirit of his post. Football is tribal and support is subjective. The way that fans exhibit their support is their own choice and for me it would be less interesting if we are all obliged to act in a certain, uniform (polite?) method, or indeed are restricted in any way

I took great pleasure in yesterday's result especially after setting up a stream for my daughters boyfriend (gooner) to watch it. How I chuckled when he switched it off at 3 nil, funny given that he'd told me beforehand how they'd be going top, and I was keen to let him know that Southampton had scored a fourth since he'd stopped watching

Southampton are a quality side, form aside. They were in line to smash someone up and it so happened that Arsenal got in the way.
And as for the empty trophy cabinet point, I simply don't get that. With Newcastle I could buy the argument, they haven't anything at all in 50 years. Arsenal have won the league loads of times in my thirty years on this planet, various other cups. With that they have grown a large South London/international fanbase but we are coming back fast on that one, and we as Palace fans will always know what it is really about to support a club, not those mugs. |

That gentleman is clearly not right in the head, aside from being an Arsenal fan.

I don't know what to say. This is magnificent.

He cannot be an Arsenal fan as he is actually making some attempt at singing.

OMG! One-sided 'scarf'...I've heard of half-&-half scarves but this is ridiculous. As for the silver papered cup, the guy should clearly be locked up. Sad but entertaining!

The Emirates must be one of the few places where all the fans are disappearing before full time and the team is cruising to a 2-0 win.

Don't think I've ever heard a quieter ground than The Emirates sounded on MOTD yesterday. The crowd barely made a whisper when Walcott missed his clear cut chances by a hair, honestly it's shameful.

I'm quietly confident they will manage to **** this title up. But it's going to take a lot more ******* up than usual though, Man City have been unreliable, maybe this month they will spend their way to winning it

It's not just everyone being shite, they also seem to have the player of the year as well.
So will take some tremendous ****uppery, but I remain confident they can do it.

I dislike Arsenal too.
Partly due to Wenger. I used to respect him, and in the 90s, I much preferred him and Arsenal to Fergie and Man Utd...but he's perhaps the most ungracious manager in the top flight IMO (Alladyce his main rival). He never seems to have a good word to say about anyone, especially when they lose. It'll be interesting to see how history remembers him after this long period of relative mediocrity. Partly due to their fans. The sanctimonious type who believe they're superior due to the type of football Wenger likes to play. The fans at the Emirates who you see on the tube carrying arms of club shop bags but who don't make a peep of sound at the game. The flip flopping about how great Wenger is one week to wanting him sacked the next week. The general entitlement. Alan Davies. |
