I like your sentiments, but can we afford to have another player banned.

But he's not "mixing it" or "putting it about" or any other tough-tackling, ball-winning midfield romanticism.
He's kicking unsighted opponents on the floor with the ball a million miles away. The spiteful coward is going to get his post that's due. |

What I still don't understand is the difference in reaction to DA compared to other incidents. Instead of moral outrage we get - the 'little tinker' but that's what makes him such a good player. Absolute boll**!. TBH I would say the two recent incidents have been less dangerous than Wickham's elbow but far more deliberate and contrived with a view to get a reaction and draw a booking from the response. i.e. I don't think Wickham saw an opportunity to elbow the player - he was having his shirt pulled again and again and was giving him a dig to stop him doing it as he did it again. (I am not defending it BTW). With both of Ali's 'efforts he looked, thought and then acted deliberately. Bit pathetic like the something from the school classroom.
My only consolation is that one day he will do it to the wrong person and will get a good kicking.

It is beginning to sound like DA will be the new Scholes when every unpunished bookable or red card foul that goes unpunished is dismissed as everyone knows scholesiee can't tackle ha ha but what a player....

If he plays we should go after him, take it in turns and wind him up.. His dark side has been highlighted now, would be difficult for a red to ignore. Get at him, get him sent off.

Him going off injured and having to miss a few vital games would be poetic justice.

Alli is a nasty, arrogant little thug. Not a hard man, but a sly little weasel.
He gets away with it because of who he plays for and because so-called "experts" on MOTD and the like excuse and condone his out-and-out thuggery and pass it off as 'commitment' and 'an edge'. No it's not. You can have aggression without being sly and violent, and he must learn that. It will only happen if he is brought to book. One day, when pundits are more even-handed and stop creaming their jeans over him and when Blind Pugh Twattenburg is not the referee, it will catch up with him. Preferably sooner than later, as, despite all this, he is a very good player, and the last thing we want is for it to come back to bite him and England on the international stage in the Euros. In the meantime, let's give him the Lee Bowyer treatment. |

Also, what winds me up as much as anything, is Alan Green calling him DelAlli (all one word) during commentary. Just call him Alli FFS sycophant...

I like a bit of nastiness, we love it when Jedinak or Delaney get stuck in, nothing wrong with it. You all sound bitter as **** because he scored that worldie against us!

Look at you all talking as if Cabaye doesn't leave his mark in players.
BillyD spot on here. Just seems like a load of people were annoyed he got picked for England, he's proven them wrong since many times over so they need to find something else to pop at |

For what it's worth, I'm pleased he's developing into an extremely talented player. Let's hope he does the business for England in the summer. I also have no problem with a player getting stuck in - in fact I like to see players be aggressive/firm in the tackle. However, that's not what Alli has been doing. He's being petulant. People are clearly getting annoyed as the media seem to let him off for kicking players off the ball. That's fair enough in my opinion. I'd be just as annoyed if a Palace player was doing this (and it has happened in the past of course).
I understand the bloke is only 19 so as long as he cuts the petulant stuff out soon I won't have a problem with him. There's nothing wrong with having fire in your belly, he just needs to learn how to not cross that line. It has nothing to do with being bitter about him being called up to England or scoring a cracker against us. There is an unnecessary childish side to his game which most people want to be straightened out - there is no need to be giving players on the ground a kick in the back/stomach/shin/whatever. If he sorts this out then fair play. |
