Exactly. Grim losing to Brighton, but better to be out the cup I think. Given our injury issues, we were never destined to go on a cup run anyway so not really bothered.

I think the club is negligent transfer wise. We were already struggling numbers wise and now we've been screwed over because of the Christmas schedule. We'll probably just about get a decent XI out tomorrow but nothing from the bench.

God knows why the Board hasn't at least made one signing yet given we've had four months to plan for our summer failures in the transfer market.

Feel for Roy and the team.

Ward - nearly back (but not tomorrow)
Sakho - a bit longer, making slow progress.
RLC - not mentioned. But as he's back in training perhaps he's available.
Townsend - about a month
Schlupp - operation tomorrow, out for months.

Was always a huge risk at that price . He was injured before he signed on loan - got injured during loan - injured when signed permanently - injured and missed 50% of available matches already .

Yeah I think a lot of us learned an important lesson there. Maybe he'll come back fit and stay fit, you never know.

We are Crystal Palace and despite the recent purple patch there is always a reason or a caveat that allows us to sign an already genuinely established world class player.

Sakho - No one else prepared to risk his significant injury problems and general craziness.
Benteke - Possibly always just a bit overrated and possibly not the same player after his injury.
Zaha - Home grown damaged goods that moyes ruined.
Cabaye - Forgotten man at PSG.

I know that buying players is not like buying a rail ticket, but since the summer the Club has surely known they needed a new Keeper and Striker, at the very least.
And now a raft of recent injuries have been picked up and still nothing. Huddersfield have made 2 signings - OK, they may turn out to be crap but at least they are doing something. And our oppo tomorrow, have got someone in.
I'm sure the Club are trying their best but if they leave it to the 11th hour (as usual) there will actually only be 13 games left, as I mentioned on here before.
Let's hope the next 3 games don't go too badly.

Agreed. Let's hope they are very active behind the scenes and get some players in asap as we need them badly.

Yes, a trip to Boro in the FA Cup at the end of Jan could of been suicidal in our current situation, it might well come back to haunt Weed too as it'll be deemed an upset if Boro win (although everybody knows Boro are a far bigger, better and more respected club), hence Hughton won't want to go too light. I wouldn't want to see us being put in that predicament with our injuries.

Agreed - disrespectful wanker. Should have been kicked out the conference. Talk about sensationalism. What a tosser! As Roy said, it was one game!

Yeah but Hodgson had every right to turn. Pardew just had the hump because he could have been out fingering WAGs.

Just spat my tea all over my iPad, fingering WAGs - the image that conjures will haunt me for the rest of my life

I can not recall a manager who makes me feel more comfortable being in charge. Irrespective of what happens in this window or this season, Roy has certainly got me trusting in him. A genuinely class operator. That journo talking debacles etc was instantly put in his place and onto the back foot for the remainder of his questions. I think the latter one on Dyche's secret was just as swiftly quashed by Roy as well with the minimum of effort or discomfort.

We are lucky to have him in my eyes.
