TFM was absolutely fine 2nd half. 1st half he was pretty crap, but wasn’t exactly the only one. Seems like he’s a bit of an easy target - the BBS always likes to have one.

It's got to be a huge concern that we have just come out of the transfer window and can bring nothing from the bench apart from injury subs, nothing that can change the game or alter tactics.
We could have played for another hour today and still not scored. |

PVA man of the match. He's been like a different player since returning.
We were dreadful first half and Newcastle should have been 2-0 up. Newcastle had the poorest goalkeeper who has visited Selhurst in a long time. Darlow was awful. This is 2 points dropped, especially when you consider that Newcastle had zero threat second half without Kenedy and Diame for long periods of the half. And WTF were we doing for the goal. Abysmal organisation, no one taking responsibility. Well done the linesman. Think we needed a win today as Everton, Tottenham, Man Utd and Chelsea next......we will see. |

Hennessey 8 played well kept us in it 1st half
Van Aanholt 9 MOM Tomkins 7 much better with Sakho Kelly 5 at fault for the goal TFM 6 game of two halves, makes unnecessary mistakes McArthur 8 excellent 2nd half ran the show Milivojevic 7 did his bit Cabaye 5 not at his best, weak link of the midfield ATM Townsend 6 worked hard, didn't really come off for him Benteke 4 missed chances, offsides, silly fouls, blocked Wilf's goal bound shot, drives me insane, gets 4 for having his shirt pulled and some neat flicks Zaha 7 weird game, tore their right back apart but decision making was very poor. Sub: Sakho 8 The beast is back! |

Agreed. A massively influential player when not forced to play on the wing. Time to go 433 and stick with it. Need the option of RLC back asap.
PVA, McA and Hennessey were all strong. Sakho brought composure to the out ball. Benteke and Wilf are underperforming and were the main reason we didn't score at least three more chances. They need to get going again before it is too late and especially since we brought the usual amount of creativity in the transfer window. Hopefully had our 'bad run' of throwaway chances and can nick a few wins over the next six. Do that and we are well set to stay up. |

Wayne and PVA the best players as they turned up for the first half and second.
How much better did Wilf and JMac look when they swapped positions. And of course the team much better accordingly. Luka had me worried with that pen. Good to have Sahko back. Surely if Roy rated Sørloth he’d have thrown him on today.

Almost everyone was very good. PVA and McArthur especially. Some very good passing by PVA, Cabaye and Luka. Good to see Sakho back on the pitch.
Newcastle had a couple of chances but were well outplayed over the 90 minutes. It’s a peculiar kind of illness that has inflicted Palace this season that we can create so much and still leave the game with 1 point. It’s the sort of thing that happens to the big clubs when they meet a stubborn opponent (such as Palace) and yet with us the symptoms invariably involve the conceding of comic goals follow by ridiculously fluffed chances for us. Benitez said that we area particularly good team in attack (or similar) and it feels like this season could have been very different if it wasn’t for some poor decisions last summer. As for the moaning about the squad...yes it’s a bit weak in depth but Kelly, TFM, PVA, Sako, Riedewald, Hennessy and Speroni are all squad players and all contributing. Only Mutch is MIA. Lets see Sorloth et al in action before we judge the quality of the squad. |

Yes, TFM was erratic but he is young and learning the game.

Does Townsend offer anything others than work rate? Not the player I thought he would be....

He has a good delivery (see both Bentekes goals)

I think the club must edit the training sessions they record to show them scoring because our shooting is awful. In the warm up, during the game we just can’t shoot and score for toffee!!

Zaha problems raise their ugly head again.
NO end product. You can go around players as much as you like but if there is nothing at the end of it......... |

TFM has actually criticised his own performance on twitter and you don’t normally get that from players

He is. We should be playing ward as soon as he's is fit. Aside from pace he's a much better defender and even, unbelievable a better crosser!!!
Like everything on the bbs we've gone from tfm the unstoppable to he's shit. Truth is he's a young player full of potential and I like him. Truth also is we've 12 games to survive in the premiership and ward is the better player right now. He must play if fit but we don't have to slag off tfm saying that

Another game we started too slowly!
We seem to always pay the opposition too much respect no matter who we play. They dictate the game, score from a poor defensive error, then we decide to have a go and soon realise that maybe the opposition didn’t deserve the respect we showed them! How about playing with tempo from the first whistle for a change? That said, I thought we played some great stuff in the second half. PVA was excellent today as was TF-M. Sakho looks different class. A superb effort from everyone and maybe we deserved all the points, but we must learn to start with more intensity. We can’t keep chasing games and expect to get maximum points.
