Hearing a rumour the game is off. Not sure how true. Reason given that team haven't been able to train.

The club regret to announce that this Friday’s friendly (20 July) against Bath City has been cancelled.
Upon arrival at our training base in Exeter on Monday we found the facilities unusable due to flooding and with no adequate alternative facilities available we made the decision to return to London. Having made that decision it was not in the best interests of the squad to travel back down to Bath on Friday evening and we made the unfortunate decision to cancel the friendly because of circumstances beyond our control. The club are actively looking for an alternative match which will take place on the same date and will be announced in due course. Let's hope that an alternative fixture can be found and it will be closer to home. |

As a club Steve are you disappointed that the venue never contacted you beforehand to tell you of the situation and that the facilities were unusable?
Is Dougie hoping to do another get together for the squad or will they just remain at Beckenham now? |

They play on Saturday, but I'm sure they won't be averse to a couple of thousand through the gate on Friday evening. |

Bath City had (apparently) turned down function business in order to keep the club house open for the match. They are a great community club and are skinter than we are. I hope that they will be suitably compensated. Just imagine if a big Premiership club had done the same to us. These things happen I guess, but it doesn't look good, and frankly we ought to be better than that.

I suspect Bath would have understood the situation lightly, if anything, as i said in my question to Steve, i guess the club are disappointed that they were not advised of the conditions beforehand by the venue. |
