Was it this round that we beat Boro in when we got to the semis?
(I answered my own question in the post below...)

When we got to the league cup semis we got Crawley, Wigan, Boro and Southampton all at home before Man Utd away.

Likely to be the Wednesday as we play on the Sunday before.......but then again that didn’t matter for Swansea

We were playing on the Saturday after Swansea. Wednesday would be 3 days after arsenal and 4 days before chelshit. Perfectly acceptable.

That is what I’m saying though the Wednesday would be perfect but for the Swansea game we played Watford on the Sunday and then Swansea on the Tuesday so only 1 days rest

Yep , but what he was saying was that following the Swansea game we had a Premier game on the following Saturday. The Chelsea game is on the following Sunday, so Wednesday would definitely be the preferred date for recovery after playing Arsenal .

Yes, hopefully when the idea of a British League Cup takes off, Palace can get drawn away to some team from the Outer Hebrides to make a proper challenge of getting home on a Tuesday night in late October.

You may joke, but that may actually breathe a bit of life into the competition, as long as the early rounds (a bit further than R2) were regionalised, and into maybe 4 regions - London & SE, Midlands and SW, North, Scotland.

42 teams in the Scottish league, they would make up almost a third of the entrants.
