Nothing running that passes through Wembley Central so Overground, Bakerloo and West Coast Main Line services all cancelled. Also Clapham Jct to Willesden Jct is closed on Sunday.

The Metropolitan line is open it goes way to the west of the closed lines but takes you to Watford (met) tube station 25 minutes walk or so to the west of Vicarage Road in the suburbs.

To view the link you have to Register or Login

Alternatives:

Tube:

Metropolitan line is open to Watford (Met) station (25 min walk to ground)

Bakerloo Line closed at Stonebridge Park. Bus replacement northwards to Harrow & Wealdstone and Watford

Trains:

All lines out of Euston including Overground closed. National Rail advise to travel to Stanmore (jubille Line) and take bus replacement service from there).

Overground closed Clapham Jn to Willesden Jn (so no getting to Met via West Hampstead that way)

Unofficial Routes?

Thameslink train to St Albans City then walk 15-20 minutes or so to St Albans Abbey then local train to Watford Junction (not in Tfl travel zones?)

Tube to Edgware (Northern Line) then take No 142 London bus to Watford High Street station (or St Marys Road stop maybe a little bit closer to the ground?). This bus is paid for (£1.50) but takes you to Watford High Street where as the rail replacement buses may not. It also passes Stanmore tube on the way. This may miss some of the rail replacement bus mad scramble!

Don't take these as gospel and check with Tfl first To view the link you have to Register or Login

I wonder also whether Marylebone to Rickmansworth might work? Edit.... Actually the buses from Ricky are only hourly.

Apparently the nearest bus stop from Watford Metropolitan Tube Station to get to the ground is 15 minutes away or you have to walk a mile to the ground from the station

Minicab to the bus stop is £6.00.

I have been to Watford many times and have never had these problems.

I just feel to need to vent about this.

In what universe does it make sense to schedule a Watford home game for the same day on which there are absolutely *no* National Rail or London Overground services to Watford Junction or Watford High Street?

The one and only occasion in the year that a South London resident would want to go to Watford, and all direct services from south London to Watford are cancelled. Crazy and contemptuous in equal measure.

No trains the entire weekend.

They never coordinate, we know this by now!

Engineering work is published at least six months in advance. I suppose they think that a London team's fans have the option of using the Met line. If they think about transport links at all, that is.

If that is the case, Watford could have asked to play away the weekend as they would have known before fixtures released.

Especially when you read about extensive improvements to the local station etc that they want us to pay for as part of the approval for our new stand. But will Palace receive a decent train service in return for that?

We all know there have been numerous occasions when our services have been cancelled due to planned engineering works and the fans have to find alternatives.

Tbf the engineering work is spread over three weekends, they were bound to have a home game at some stage.

Got to be honest, it's really not that much difference, distance wise, walking from Watford Junction to their ground than using the Tube station on the Metropolitan line ( I think the Metro is a little bit closer really) - the downside is no pubs en route, but you can compensate for that by getting off at Baker Street and have a far better choice of eats and drinks before hopping back on the tube, also far less of a crush from what I saw on Sunday compared to my normal Thameslink journey from East Croydon to Watford Junction for the fixture.
