As for Wilf Zaha leaving, so much will be dependant on us staying up and that will no doubt impact on his value. If we stay up we must resist the temptation to sell a player that is so vital to the cause, and not make the mistake we did all those years ago when selling Ian Wright who was so influential to the club's cause in staying up.
Off course there is always that the player himself wants to leave to improve himself financially and also to win trophies and those reasons has to be respected, unfortunatelty that is where clubs like CPFC will always pay the penalty and lose its best talent. To combat that we need to think smart, if we cant compete in keeping hold of these players then we need to ensure we get the best possible fee and Not be forced by the player or bullied by the buying club into selling on THEIR terms. So if we are to sell WZ then it has to be at a price that reflects not only this crazy market, but also his value to what he brings to the club himself solely as did Ian Wright and how we suffered on the pitch when sold, so any fee for WZ must reflect this which for me has to be in excess of 65m, but hopefully we dont need to go down that route. |

Great post until the £65m part.
If that carthorse Van Dyke is worth £75m then Wilf is a 9 figure sum. |

Each new offer Spurs make, had they made it the last time we may have taken it, instead Wilfs value just shoots up. Next Jan Spurs will offer us £75million and we will laugh about it

Even if we stay up, if Wilf decides he wants to move on this summer, we will have big trouble staying up next season. I think we need to pray that he doesn't ask to leave as I'm pretty sure Parish & Co won't sell him whatever anyone offers us. We haven't taken a point without him this season!

Bugger me, Everton spent £25m on a certain Yannick Bolasie and how has that worked out for them?
Wilf has committed his immediate future to Palace via a long term contract and Spurs can just go and f*ck themselves. The pant wetting really has become daft on here.

Nope. If Alli was a Palace player he would spend most of his time banned for diving! Being a top 6 club and an England player is the only thing that saves him from his twattishness!

Are you saying referee's turn a blind eye, surely not. Alli has been booked more than anybody, three times, for simulation since his debut in 2015-16, alongside who in that time....Wilf.

It depends how much of the Kane money they want to use as to whether they can afford him. They certainly can't at the moment.

Atletico signed Aguero from Independiente for 20 million euros using the money they got from selling Torres. He had only scored 18 goals in 36 games in the Argentinian league.

Atléti have an incredible track record in recent times of creating amazing strikers. Torres, Agüero, Costa, Griezmann, all unknown/average before signing for them. Forlán and Falcao were already class before joining them, but they improved too imo.

That's my point and I really don't think all would be lost of we get a fair price for Wilf. The Wilf money could see become a top half team battling for Europa League.

The problem with that "Orp P1" he is already on a reputed salary of around 120k p.w, how much more can we afford without upsetting the whole setup within the club. But also if a Top Five club were to come in they would most certainly better his current salary, also more importantly can offer him something we can never, European football. Which in fairness we need to accept and respect every top player wants and expects, and this is a player that has CPFC in his blood so cant be denied that opportunity in fairness.

Maybe unknown to you, but was well known to many and had been banging them in at Atletico Madrid for sometime and was also known for being married to Maradona's daughter

We’ll sell Wilf and buy Gabiadini.

You have the chronology wrong. Atletico sold Torres and bought an unknown 18 year old Aguero from Independiente. That is my point, I'm sure their fans were pessimistic. They are where they are because they sold and bought really well. We did it selling Clinton and getting AJ.

Smart recruitment for sure but questionable finances. Doyen is a name that will come up a lot in topics about third party this. FC Porto operated in a similar way and much of that money they got for selling big names for huge fees didn't find its way back to the club. An arrangement with Doyen has really messed up FC Twente in Holland; title winners and Champions League appearances to debt, court cases, dropped points and relegation looking on the cards this season.
