Fantastic and well-chosen line-up of rare beers and ciders!

I've heard good things about Exit 33 from Yorkshire. Magic Rock and Mallinsons were great in Huddersfield when we were there for the match recently. You don't normally see these in London.

This is going to be purely a layman's answer, but keg beer tends to be colder and fizzier and comes out of a tap and cask beer is flatter, less cold and pumped.

Traditional ales tend to be cask and lagers and modern style IPAs from a keg.

About £2 a pint.

Cask is served cool (ideal cellar temp is 12įc), either under gravity or use of a pump or beer engine. Typically it will have a second stage of fermentation in the cask to provide low levels of carbonation.

Keg is served under CO2 pressure usually at a lower temp and higher carbonation than cask.

Thatís what I meant to say but my iPhone changed it.

I shall be mainly drinking Tiny Rebel Cwtch.

(Well, probably just one pint - but it was the beer I was drinking when the whole cycling the season plan was hatched.)

Pretty good value - as prices are similar to those in a free house for cask beer and for the stronger ales and ciders these prices are actually cheaper than in a pub.

Brilliant range of beers and ciders chosen by Mark from the Cronx aka the BBS's "Perry Suckling"
