Firstly, are we in the market for a Coach? i see names like Murphy and Gary Neville being mentioned, but can't see them giving up lucrative tv contracts for the uncertainty of CPFC a pity as they could be excellent candidates. But won't happen.
What we need is a track suited youngish person who can be the "legs" for Roy on the training pitch and the person who could well be the one is Phil Neville. What he brings is experience at the highest playing level not that many years ago, worked as a coach for Everton so experienced in that role in the premiership what is required, plus the added bonus can update the manager on current players we could be in for in January, and importantly seems to have the right attitude to get on with players, vital today. So for me fits the bill perfectly and would be my First choice. |

Please can we stop the ex player nonsense. It is nostalgia with no logic.

The worrying thing for me is how Roy talks about 'cant wait to get involved with the coaching again, that's my strength'. If he was coming in as an overseer, like Coppell used to do, i'd be far more optimistic. Seems he sees his strengths in the day-to-day coaching. Maybe Lee knew that the control over this he had with SA was up, and walked. All just supposition, but still i find it a concern.

I'll blame it on the IPad this time. Yeah, think it's really odd seeing as they worked together before. Maybe there is more to it? Would have looked, on paper, a good set up of Roy, Ray, Sammy.

No way would Gary Neville want a coaching job with Palace!

What does the Manager and Ast Manager do at training if not coach? Would rather have a specialist Defensive Coach.

Very good shout. He one of was Roy's first signings at Fulham having previously managed him at Viking. He also helped us out with some scouting when he retired so you'd think he may be interested.
Think he still lives in South London as well. Top bloke who I can imagine making a fantastic coach/manager one day.

I have a feeling we could be hearing a lot more of KM's name before the season is out

Sounds like Brede was just being honest though. Doubt he expected it to make the national papers.

Hangeland does media work for TV2 in Norway now. He runs a blog and has written two excellent pieces on Palace lately. One on why De Boer was the wrong Choice and one on Hodgson and his training methods.
