But it should be, as I posted yesterday - as a result of the cheating three other teams fighting relegation will gain - Everton have a point, West Ham and Southampton will face a weaker Everton in the next 2 matches yet we are cheated out of 2 points that, come the end of the season could be crucial.

Therefore, the contact we can see with Dann having his arm against Niasse is not an issue, which should he obvious when (if) we get to see the report.
So like the violent conduct investigations - if the referee mentions seeing it correctly in his report and has judged it at that point then there's no action - a warning or a yellow for diving could not be upgraded to a red.

But as Niasse has deceived the ref it's they can ban him.

Fine by me.

There's only one way this retrospective silliness will end - Video Assisted Refereeing.

Retrospective bans for diving will last until the day Man U lose because of a dive, and they'll have VAR in place in time for them to replay the game.

FA have released the written reasons for the ban now: To view the link you have to Register or Login

3 member panel was: Mr. S. Ripley (Chairman), Mr. P. Raven and Mr. M. Johnson.

You can read the full report on the FA website (To view the link you have to Register or Login)

The match delegate assessing the referee said:
“The glaring example of simulation was the penalty award on 4 mins against Palace. In my view, Everton’s Niasse has dived to earn his team a penalty and Mr Taylor was successfully deceived. I accept there was contact made by Palace’s Dann. However the contact made is minimal – certainly not enough to make Niasse fall to the ground in the way he did”.

Apparently Everton used the referees recurrent remarks that it was a penalty because of the contact in their mitigation (i think a lot of us on here were left unimpressed with Mr Taylor generally)

Main clause in the report is:
To the minds of the Commission members the movements of Mr Niasse’s body, in particular the arching of the back and the collapsing of both legs, were simply not consistent with the amount of force exerted upon him by Mr Dann and in exaggerating the effect of the contact made between himself and Mr Dann, Mr Niasse deceived the referee and this led to a penalty being awarded by the referee.

He deceived the referee several times,as did his teamates.
Still doesn't excuse Antony Taylor though.
Where is that dick officiating this weekend?

Amazing how Everton are still defending the indefensible. Even Phil Neville on Sky yesterday said the decision to ban Niasse is 'disgusting'.

That's all well and good - correct decision. Because he made it look like he had run into some Patio Doors. But the ban to us is pointless.

The problem with this now is that will every penalty that probably wasn't a penalty going to result in the 'offender' being banned? The fine lines with contact, knocked off balance and contact instigated by the player. It's going to be a can of worms.

I'm surprised that the first case of this in the Premier has been after there was contact.

Didn't he say at the weekend that it was never a penalty and a blatant dive?

The reason why this one led to a ban is solely because it didn't involve a player from the top y clubs. Others should have been done before this. I hope though it brings to an end to he was touched so has a right to go down crap. Unless of course you play for man u city Chelsea et al
