Possibly Millwall away when I could only get in with the knuckledragger fans. I was cheering loudly for the Eagles & only the fact we played so badly & got stuffed 3-0 saved me from ending the day in a wooden box.

The Valley in 2004 was pretty depressing.

The 5-0 away to Derby was awful too. Kuqi tore us to pieces and Savage bossed Davids all game.

Also honourable mention for 0-0 vs Boro in 2011 or 2012. Such a boring game in a bitterly cold blizzard.

Wimbledon 1993 - we lost 4-0 in the pissing rain. Stadium was a shithole & really hard to get to.

Quality wise, probably a 1-0 defeat at Barnsley on a Tuesday night in February. It was so awful, Jordan refunded the match tickets. Highlight was Craig Harrison taking the piss out of Kevin Miller after he'd been sent off.

The Brighton 0-0 at the Withdean was similarly awful. Couldn't see a thing at the far end - only realised Danny Granville had been sent off when he walked past us...

I went to that Barnsley game and to make it worse I had chucked my ticket away so couldn't get a refund

3-0 defeat away at Brighton a few years back. As well as the defeat there was being held outside the ground after in the pissing rain whilst the plastics took the piss from the embankment above us.

Either Hartlepool in the biting cold, FA Cup early 90s, or the Wigan 5-0 debacle. There are other contenders, mind!

We actually played quite well that day but it's the coldest I've ever felt in my life. Think we had about 400 there which was amazing given the conditions and the fact we were going nowhere but mid table.

The scariest was Millwall in the 64/65 season.
There were a number of heavy defeats in the mid to late 60's that were pretty dire; one was 4-0 at Blackpool where we went for a few drinks afterwards, missed the train and spent the freezing cold night in a telephone box. When I'm back in the UK, I still travel to away games with the same mate who came with me to all those games.

Leave the ground as game was cancelled as if was unsafe outside, meaning we had to go back outside where it was unsafe! It's Liverpool... 'it's Liverpool always unsafe' didn't go down very well with the authorities!
God I remember that. Got kicked off the train in Crewe because the overhead fires caught fire. Spent 3 hours in a pub across the road with the entire population of Crewe station, as it had been evacuated. Trying desperately to work out how to get to the game, only to hear it's then called off shortly before

Beat losing to Leicester (away, again!) to an extremely dubious penalty the previous year. My memory fails again, but I believe Eric Young was sent off too. Maybe it was my masochistic tendencies as a Palace supporter that made me listen to Danny Baker gloating and rubbing it in on the radio all the way home when it had been proved not to be a penalty at all.
The 3rd round cup defeat at Hartlepool in 1978 wasn't any better.

Luton 1981, dire football. The walk back to station involved ducking from incoming lumps of concrete and getting kettled under a bridge by the rozzers. Made it back to the Signal safe n sound.

Ha! My worst one, too. And it was my first-ever away game. I was mad enough to go the next season and we won 2-0, in our promotion year.

Villa away the season before last when we lost 1-0.

Midweek, absolutely dire game, freezing cold, we lost 1-0 and the hotel we stayed in was shocking.

I remember when we lost 7-0 away to Huddersfield in the late 90s? Early 2000s?
