It might not be racist to want to close the borders but a chunk of those who want to close the borders are racist.

That might be one of your best ever posts. Don't mention in on the Corbyn thread and the far left loons don't think there is an anti-semitism problem.

Remoaners seem far more worried about race and immigration being some sort of major issue in leaving the poxy EU than Brexiteers.....

That is certainly a more reasonable statement. It would help if we could use a term that was more accurate than "racist".
Xenophobe perhaps?

MPs will NOT get a vote on triggering Article 50, Theresa May has announced.

And she launches an attack on those who want a vote in Parliament - or to challenge the decision in the courts.

They’re “not standing up for democracy, they’re trying to subvert it,” she fumes.

“They’re not trying to get Brexit right. They’re trying to kill it by delaying it. They’re insulting the intelligence of the British people.”

She says that’s why the legal action against Brexit by grassroots pro-EU campaigners will be opposed by attorney general Jeremy Wright.

She adds: “It is up to the government to trigger Article 50 and the government alone."

“Parliament put the decision to leave or remain inside the EU in the hands of the people.

“It is up to the government not to question, quibble or backslide on what we’ve been instructed to do, but to to get on with the job.”

Earlier she confirmed that Article 50 will be invoked by the end of March 2017, as she announced on live TV this morning.

“There will be no unnecessary delays to invoking Article 50. We will invoke it when we are ready, and we will be ready soon,” she says.

“We will invoke Article 50 no later than the end of March next year.”

Amen.

Why argue semantics of language that broadly means the same things, if not to deflect from the broader argument.

The argument of over crowding is a legitimate one to discuss, but there clearly isnt an overcrowding landwise, the only 'overcrowding' is of economic resources in certain inner city areas and thats as much to do with birth rates of those already here, an aging population and gigantic cuts in government spending, ironically exaserbated by leaving the eu.

Corbyn's half way house plan, seems to make the most sense. Migration impact funds, more government spending to off-set the impact of changing populations.

I'm fully for migration, it's not this uncontrolled mess that the right make it out to be, everybody wanting to live here has to get a national insurance number. It's easy to track who is and isnt here.

The 'illegal' argument is also a falacy. As if people are here 'illegally' that wont be tracked with or without free movement.

The cultural argument is weaponising passive racism. Nobody ever defines what they mean by British culture or how migration effects this, they just say it as a statement. What is British culture if not years of migrating peoples forming a fluxiating identity that is constantly changing.
