2nd tier of Main Stand like most normal modern grounds. Once that is installed the current monstrosity can be scrapped.

I'd bet that Christopher Wren was never subjected to such feeble questioning from underlings. Apologise immediately or produce your own sophisticated technical drawing that Dorking has at the very least had the decency to share with the group.

Basically, £20m later, you'd have exactly the same capacity, just better view from a new upper tier than you currently get from the back of the current stand what with the pillars and gantry.
Thanks for your clever interpretation of a solution.

Basic rule of right to sunlight is to draw a line at 25 degrees from the centre of the lower floor window on south facing dwellings. So at the lowest point of Park road this would give a roof height of roughly 12 metres (about the height of a four storey building). The further the roof line goes back from the window, the greater the height. Uncle Ron once had a dream about buying out all these lower houses to alleviate the problem, but then its not like Anfield where all the houses are owned by either Liverpool or Robbie Fowler.
In your sketch the upper tier would in practice require separate facilities in an upper concourse if your wish to sell it as a premium seat so would have to be a lot wider. So we can come up with several designs within this constraint either two-tier or steeper angle but they all end up with almost no gain in capacity, only an improved concourse and better sight-lines.

Any concourse would probably have to be terraced in order to cope with the slope of Park Road.
Also I love your accurate representation of the toilets - basically a hole in the ground.

They can wear white if we bring back the sash, that's sort of helpful. Pretty sure the place will be empty 99% of the rest of the week. Give and take, eh.

Thanks, wasn't aware of what the specific constraints were, always assumed we were stuffed if we were to try and do any more than is there currently

Ron only ever bought one house along Park Road, and even advertised it for rent via the match programme! London prices are about 10 times that at Liverpool by their ground!

As rubbish as the Arthur is, it has a heck of a capacity, and its mainly frequented by away fans, tourists, and has by far the largest % of non season ticket seats, so it will always be low priority for any investment

I did ask SP about whether the 2nd tier idea was a goer but apparently the foundations aren't strong enough. This is why I thought just exec boxes/disable area there instead, as although it would reduce the capacity by about 2k it would mean the exec boxes in the Whitehorse could be replaced with a 2nd tier instead.

There may be no big financial benefit to CPFC in doing this but it is about treating Palace fans and fans in general a bit better than they currently are, instead of pissing all the PL money away on journeymen players. There simply has to be some sort of genuine improvement to the infrastructure of the ground for our 4 year stay in the PL and if the Main stand isn't going to happen for a while then why not tart up the AW and Whitehorse a bit in the meantime?

The idea is to double the size of the current concourse and improve the facilities, so it's hardly ignoring it.

Do we seriously think that naming rights are worthwhile for companies.
of the current Premiership only 7 out of 20 grounds are sponsored and who knows what Liberty or King Power do? Despite only being there recently I still call Stoke's ground The Britannia Stadium.
Even shirt sponsor ship is doubtful. I tried to write down their names and could only get 12 correct. We only played Boro last week and I couldn't remember Ramsdens. What do they do anyway? I thought they were a fish and chip shop.
And as for what is West Brom's sponsors name....answers on a postcard please.

Until a few years ago I always called the WHL end the 'Sainsburys' end anyway, and they never paid for naming rights!

King Power is the duty free shop at Bangkok airport, they must make a fortune! Bournemouth have had so many different companies sponsor the name of their ground, yet their club shop sold badges and keyrings with Dean Court on them.
