Their player deserves a ban for that, ridiculous that he can't be retrospectively punished as it has already been 'dealt' with.
Absolutely pathetic rule to protect the precious ref

Its a shocking tackle, makes me wince when i watch it. Changes must be made to retrospective action. This is a leg breaker, the sort of thing they're trying to outlaw.

Await the press conference to find out how bad the injury is.

Thought he looked arrogant and disinterested in his first 6 months. Think his form has improved more than any other in the team since Allardyce arrived. What a difference a manager makes, frankly.

My issue with the Coutinho one is that they are showing it again and again, as if it was the only contentious decsion in the game

It has been completely ignored but re watch the chance Cabaye has shortly before our second goal, his leg is clearly taken from beneath him as he shoots

Both incidents are almost identical in that neiher challenge stopped the striker getting his attempt at goal away, but both could potentially be called as penaties

Most contentious decison in the game was the ridiculous booking for Benteke

Later on in the game Marriner gave more than one freekick to Liverpool for similar challenges in the middle of the pitch. One in particular on Wijnaldum was a clear a dive by him

Same as Carrgher going on about we had done well to score twice from only 3 shots on target, ignoring the fact that Liverpool only had 1 shot on target in the entire game

Its all moot now, as we deservedley won the game, but frustrating to watch

Yeah, I wasn't watching on sky so didn't have to cope with Carragher. I had Jim Beglin who is a red but not as biased.

Met Beglin on a golf trip - great bloke. Friends with Mike Newell (wrong un) who I said could stay at my gaff if Grimsby got the dream Selhurst draw in the cup!

On the challenge, I missed a lot of the game yesterday and did not realise it was so bad. That is the exact tackle they want to wipe out.

West Ham's loss is Palace's gain as far as Tomkins goes.

Without doubt. Always thought he was a good signing. Same with Townsend. I always said judge them when we get a better management team in place.

I still can't believe their player didn't get a red for it. It was an appalling tackle. Far worse this season than a lot of red cards issued.

I'm not condoning the tackle (it was a clear red and the prick should get an instant three match ban regardless of the FA's 'rules'), but I don't think many of us saw it at the time. None of our players seemed to react either.

I can forgive the ref for not giving a red at the time but there's no excuse for not slapping a ban on the little scrote after the event. I haven't seen one pundit who doesn't think it was a straight red.

I see the Hull player has had his red card rescinded (shame). Can't a yellow be upgraded to a red (in the case of the tackle on Tomkins)?

Dreadful tackle. Hope the lad recovers well and is fighting fit for pre-season. He's become a solid player for us.

You're joking, surely?
I know we were watching it on the box, but both my sons and I winced when it happened and were surprised to see him get up.
