Ray Lewington

Sounds like he'll be following Woy to Palace, having worked alongside him at Fulham and England.

Will be great to see him back at Selhurst!

Him getting injured alongside some of the players was why we went down in 98!

Is calling Roy Hodgson 'Woy' acceptable now? Seems incredibly childish.

As I recall, he wasn't injured, he went to hospital for a minor operation and got blood poisoning.

Who remembers his great career playing for Palace as well?

Oh, only Mark Goldberg.

Some of the press seem to think so.

Sammy worked with Hodgson in the England set-up so I wouldn't be surprised to see both him and Ray Lewington involved.

We certainly wouldn't be lacking in experience!

Don't mind this at all, besides the Palace connection, that people get so riled up about, he's actually a very good coach and has been throughout his career.

Welcome aboard the Mary Celeste.

You may well be right there.

I know that several people in and around the club at the time believed that his disappearance from the training ground for an extended period was felt to be a HUGE loss.

Agreed.

We move on after a mistake.

Didn't he start a season in the 90s as a joint manager with us?

Experience? We'd have a combined coaching team age of 189!

Oh dear.

Who was it that said the club was going backwards.

Remember his attempt at managing after Bassett cleared off.

Still got 'Lewington Out!' chants ringing in my ears,
