We need more of the same tomorrow although all the signs suggest we will struggle; Stoke bottom of the table having conceded 4 goals at home in their last outing. At least we are not on TV which would certainly guarantee defeat.

With all those odds against us we might do something unpredictable and get a last minute draw...

Sorry on my hols and I thought it wasn't being screened. Plenty of time to search for a bar showing the game as we are 2 hours ahead.

So taking all things into account and the fact that we are at home means the odds are against us

The next six games got us 5pts how many do you think we will get this time.
Stoke H W
Sunderland A W
Everton A L
WHU H D
Leicester A L
Liverpool H L

9pts would be great 7pts is my guess.

7 after today and another 7 from the next 5 games would be good. And it is more likely that those 7 points come from the unexpected.

Early days but beat Sunderland next Saturday and we will have our best points total at this early stage of the season since we returned to the Premier League.

One of those mustn't lose games from last season which saw us go a goal down in the first half after Dann deflected a shot past Hennessey. Two goals from Wickham in the second half put us on course for all 3 points until Borini scored a ridiculous equaliser from an acute angle in the last minute. The goals are here:

Sunderland are having their normal poor start to the season so a great opportunity to put 3 points on the board.

Thanks Sunderland as I think most other teams would have made a better stab of defending that last minute freekick.

So we are all square again compared with last season. The really good news, despite all the angst on the BBS this season from certain posters, is that we are sitting in 7th spot on 10 points.

Admittedly we have had an easier run than last season as we played Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham in our first 6 games and still picked up 9 points.

Yes and thats why we must keep our feet on the ground ten points is a decent total but it will be hard to get any more in the next three games one win out of those will do for me.

One more point and we will have equalled our total for the whole of the second half of last season.

With the way Arsenal destroyed Chelsea last weekend, I think we'll have our hands full, however, I think we could do ok against Chelsea (win, draw, not lose by much) and possibly take Man U. Depends on our injuries.

Well given our results against Everton since we returned to the Premier League it was almost inevitable that Lukaku would score and we would get a result.

Other than the fact that Everton scored first this was a repeat of our 1-1 draw from last season. We do seem to like playing the scousers, although after 7 games we still remain all square compared to last season.

Looking ahead we lost our next 3 games last season versus West Ham, Leicester and Liverpool. Certainly a great opportunity to put us in positive territory.

I love a good graph.

I've removed the 97/98 and 04/05 seasons as really I think that last season and the season before are now our yardsticks.

So if I am reading this right, from the teams we face in our next 6 games, we only got 4 points from those fixtures last season? Ouch

Nope. I've just realised that dave has got the Burnley and Man City games played as Home and Away respectively when it should be the other way around (I've fixed the graph above to reflect this).

Last season when we played Newcastle away we lost 1-0, so actually we got 1 point from the next 6 games:

8 West Ham ----- H ----- L
9 Leicester------- A ----- L
10 Liverpool ----- H ---- L
11 Burnley ------ A ----- L
12 Man City ----- H ----- L
13 Swansea ----- A ----- D
