"Special direct train" is not showing up on National Rail yet. Is it likely to? To view the link you have to Register or Login

Yeah I am pretty much drawing to the conclusion that it's hotel in brighton or not making it after all. I don't think i can drive as i now can't leave london early enough to make it. I don't fancy the idea of the special if it's going to be leaving in excess of an hour after the game has ended. Thank the lord for illegal streams for situations like this.

Regardless of whether you get the special or not, you will be held in, for at least 30 minutes, maybe longer, unless you are in the home end.
So, then, you will probably have to queue for a train to Brighton, so no great time loss in waiting for the special. Once its there, I reckon they will march us all down to get on it. Perhaps holding those queuing for other trains.
We were held in for about 30 minutes after the play off game, then down to the station. I parked about 1.5 mile away that night, and was free to leave past Falmer station, although it was a little unfriendly (to be expected) 'at' the station. This season, I'm parking in Three Bridges, going back on the special. Traffic to/from Falmer is horrendous.

It was a bit like the film The Warriors trying to get from that train across the station onto the London bound train. Some fat weed who was being a complete div got absolutely skittled by a young lad in a Palace shirt on the concourse. And then the fat bloke ended up on our carriage back to civilisation and was cussed by our lot as he sat there feeling very sorry for himself.

Then when the youtube videos from the day began to surface, who was there acting the hardcase towards the pre match Palace escort? None other than fat bloke.

Be safe all that are going on the train. Simeon may be training it as well back to Redhill

The special train last time was absolutely fine, you'll be on it by about 10:15 and it gets back to London pretty quickly. If you live in Croydon/London this game really isn't that inconvenient.

It'd make sense if it's waiting there anyway (as per the original post) as a lot of Palace fans will be going from there/Brighton to other southern locations.

It drives through the station and stops, the driver then changes ends and we head up a different line.I don't remember it stopping on the platform.

No idea specifically, but looking on map probably Moulsecoomb or Hollingbury. Long walk. Some of it through an unlit wood copse.

And I understand its largely permit holders only now since they increased the capacity at the Amex.

Having driven one of these specials I can guarantee it won’t stop at Lewes station. The platform that you drive through doesn’t have the capacity for a 12 coach and the old bill won’t want it stopping anyway.

It didn't allow people to alight at Lewes after the Play Off from memory. But we were able to laugh in the faces of the 'weed who were on the platform looking down at their shoes and wiping tears from their eyes.
