It should be quite easy for the club to relocate or put back to existing season ticket locations for the 35 season tickets holders that have already bought these....
Cant see anything on the club website yet. Only their statement.

I like the sound of this approach. Why not open a season ticket swap scheme too?

My father is 83 and so we might then swap our LH block H tickets for WH seats

Good post.

Interesting points.

Is the general consensus that the Lower Holmesdale will be safe standing? If so I can imagine lots of people would want to move out and likewise move in.

I would move to the Upper Tier if possible I think.

I can foresee lots of arguments between those who want to stand and those who want to sit unless it is made official that the whole Lower Holmesdale is standing, starting from next season say.

Imagine if the club announced it like that months ago and told the players what was happening as well... things would be a bit different this season.

I think in fairness this is exactly what weíre seeing here. A solution 15 years ago isnít a solution now, situations change and the fan base needs to change with it, else it gets stale like the Kop. The current set up has served us really well, but it was starting to flatline and itís better to adapt than stand still (which means going backwards).

Itíll piss a few people off, but the atmosphere for the vast majority will improve and that leads to what we all want, which is what is best for the club.

I notice the brochure talks about a reshuffle in advance of the 18/19 season. This appears to have been put together several months ago in conjunction with the Club before they got cold feet over the whole idea. It would have been a labour intensive period trying to fit everyone back in and would have put a few noses out of joint but I think it's bold and brilliant, personally.

A simple and blindingly obvious solution. Well done HF and hats off for the quality communication, both words and visuals.

Now lets get it done.

Iíve never understood why something like this isnít already in place.

The club could have a section on the ticket site in the summer where you select seats in the ground where people who are ST holders who would be willing to swap with fellow ST holders.

You put your seat on offer for a swap then the club email you when someone is interested in it and you decide whether their seat is one you would swap with.

Iím sure it would throw up a few dozen matches at the end of every season at least.

If no one is interested in your seat and you canít swap it, you just stay where you are. Nothing has been lost.

Surely this is something that could also be looked into by the club.

....

The HF lads made that brochure and put it to the club. Thatís how serious and passionate they are about the whole idea, for the benefit of the whole football club.

So you can hopefully understand why theyíre a bit ****ed off by being given the green light by the club and thinking this wonderful plan was actually going to be a reality for this season, only to find out that the club havenít even bothered to consult people in Block E.

This is a good idea.

It might be a bit more admin for the box office but a good idea if it can be done.

Very interesting and thought provoking/inspiring statement.

Their vision sounds fantastic, and I'd be excited to be a part of it, but ultimately it's still going to upset people who've had the same seats for decades. I guess that's the price of progression though. I do agree we have the potential to create something special.

As a season ticket holder halfway up Block G, my only question is this...

The document states 'All from the Lower Tier will have the chance to register for the new section - the back of the lower tier behind the goal.'

Does this mean the singing section will only be in the back half of the stand? How many blocks will it cover? Just D, E and F? Or right across the stand?

Was under the Eagle at Wembley and although getting a bit passed the probable target audience am all for this, although being in block F probably dont need to move to be part of it if it is covering the whole stand, a lot of work required by the club but not at all insurmountable with the right application, if only safe standing can be introduced for the start of next year would make it perfect timing

However, all fans need to be treated with respect especially those that dont fancy it and need to be able to move to comparable seating elsewhere ( sweetners needed before new stand is built ? )

As a twenty nine year old Palace fan, I have been going to Selhurst for about 20 years now with the old man. Iíve always lived at least two hours from the ground and as such attend about 7 home games a season. I made it to both play off finals in recent years and the cup final. I have never had a season ticket due to the distance I have to travel and time and money involved in getting to the ground let alone the season ticket price on top of that. I have experienced that magical and unique atmosphere and growing up only knowing palace, this is such a huge part of the way I see our identity. The vision from the HF really is something to take the ground to the next level and make palace a place teams genuinely dread. My point is that this vision is exciting and just the idea makes my blood rush with anticipation of the noise that will be created at every home match. I would snap up a season ticket in the singing section in a second if it becomes a reality. I always felt that the HF were amazing but something slightly distant and individual that I could never be a part of - this brings everyone together and makes us all part of that special atmosphere. This is a deal breaker for me, and for the first time in my life I would drive the two and a half hours to Selhurst for every match day just to be part of it. Just donít tell the wife Iíll be away every other week!!
