They were given the mandate to pour millions, even billions down the drain thanks to a marginal public vote. They can't just now stop and say they failed unless the public let's them by reversing the decision. Until then we continue into the abyss no matter how bad it gets. |

And most decent thinking people know that is a) a stupid at best idea, at worst a malevolent idea. And b) also impossible to deliver at practical level. So the voice of The Great Stab in the Back (see Austrian painter, and other societal failures, passim) will - and indeed is - gaining traction in the void left by a non-vocal, incompetent, almost disinterested Labour party leadership. Long may Corbyn and his maomentum Dave Sparts rot in ****** hell, Alongside their goons on the equivalent hard Tory right and neo-fascists. The road at moment is straight to Non Deal Brexit, Nothing needs to be done to 'achieve' that. However, something, an action or an intervention needs to be done to achieve a 2nd Vote OR a soft Brext / EFTA / EEA OR Chequers crap deal OR No Brexit at all. So for me No Deal Brexit is most likely - with all the accompanying violent, disruptive symptoms of a country in serious crisis when it voluntarily opts out of an intertwined 40 yr plus trade, economic and societal union (indeed, never. We are the first). Brexit as a warm, smoking gun. UK as a suicide. Not sure we will be so worried about the Premier League standings in April to be honest. |

I was comforted by my colleague at the golf club affirming that leaving without a deal will be fine, BMW's to Britain, WTO rules won't apply a tariff etc etc etc.

The good news is we will be publishing 70 technical notices as opposed to only 68 technical notices already posted by the EU. We may be slow in getting our act together but we can still trump them with our two extra notices.

Birmingham is far to edgy for Skinty. He went there once but someone with ´brown skin´tried to talk to him. He called the police who arrived and asked him why he called them instead just giving directions to the taxi driver. Last edited by chelmsfordeagle; 22-08-2018 at 02:45 PM. |

For the first time, I now want Corbyn and his chums out. Their blind support of Brexit ‘in the name of what people voted for’ has pushed me over the edge. The opposition are meant to exploit holes in government plans when they will not be for the good of the country. Brexit isn’t a hole but a gaping ******* chasm.
I get that it does make it difficult for them in that a fair number of their Northern voters also went with Brexit, but they need to come out now and go with the truth. The truth is that Brexit makes us as a country worse off for the majority. Considering that’s pretty much what Corbyn has been preaching for the last few years - making the country work better for the forgotten majority - why isn’t he shooting at an empty net? |

I just want someone with some basic common sense to speak about Brexit and point out that not doing it would be a really ******* good idea right now. Apparently you have to be a Lib Dem for that though.

I read today that the UK is the only country in Europe where life-expectancy is going down.
Living the 's***e-life' can be avoided by cancelling brexit apparently. Tinned peas and no fresh fruit how brexiteers must be looking forward to it. Do voters actually want these kind of things? I'm not sure treat them rough they seem to like it. |

Wouldn't it be great to be able to say to the EU. Look, if you sort this, this and this out (insert your own examples) this will placate nearly all but the hardcore Brexiters by sorting out the reasons why they left, then we won't leave.
