He is brilliant at last gasp tackles but seems prone to unforced errors and complacency . Noticed recently he seems to lose out on a lot of heading duels and can be out muscled . I would prefer a Mawson ( Swansea ) or Dawson ( WBA) type defender ) but not sure we would get our money back on Sakho even if RH wanted to sell .

He moved awkwardly when clearing the ball just before and I said to Mrs H that he won't play in the next game now. He seems to have this odd habit of moving the wrong leg (can't describe this well but) it's as if he shifts the weight to the wrong side and then has to stretch awkwardly and with all of the weight pulling against him? Its in part how he got injured that first season and looks 'weird' to say the least.

That was very brave. He's not perfect, and is a bit injury and occasionally error prone, but I'd still rather see him out there than some of our back ups.

I didn't think so. He shouldn't have gone for the ball in the first place. Tomkins was marking Ulloah. It would have been some header for ulloah to score. Then Sakho completely left Murray unmarked. It was a very poor decision from Sakho. Bizarre really but luckily it didn't cost us this time. Like his odd backheel in the last minute against Chelsea at home.

Really getting bored of his constant injuries and hope he's fine and can at least string a handful of games together until the end of the season.

His bit part in our season has got us points. Just like last season. Hugely important player. Imagine having him for a whole season!

He was rather wibbly wobbly on his feet yesterday wasn’t he, like bambi on ice.

Last season I really admired how commanding he was at the back, taking control at organising the line etc.

He seems a lot quieter since he returned this time, and even that absence was clouded by some mixed messages.

Doesn’t seem like the Sakho of a year ago and I hope he finds his mojo again because he’s a great defender when he does.

I thought he was pretty awful and very jittery for most of the match. Nothing like the calming and authoritative influence he was last season. There have been so many ballooned headed clearance attempts this season. However I don't any other Palace centre back could have rescued the situation after PVA's attempted clearance fell to a Brighton shirt.

But for 26(ish)million he has been a disappointment. At times yesterday I was seriously thinking that Kelly may be a better option.

Got completely bitched by that piece of shit Dunk for the 1st goal. This season has been a weird one, not surprising though with this club. Fully expect him back to his best next season. We’re lucky with the centre backs we’ve got at the club IMO

A fairly negative way to view it, but possibly correct.

If his form last season though was normal for him, he would be at Juventus. He was that good.

More mistakes than Kelly, Hennessey, Souare, Ward, Lee even Dann ? No I don't think this warrants a thread.

Or Tomkins who was drawn out of position for the goal because no midfielders were defending ?

Odd that he gets out muscled quite a lot as other times he seems like a monster who is teice as strong as anyone on the pitch.

Still the best defender at the club but is prone to a clanger.
Sometimes overplays the ball but his calming influence and desire to pass it out of trouble has led to attacks starting.

We would struggle to find better imho.

It went up a lot after the initial 8 performances while on loan to us. We probably could have got him for half what we eventually paid had we bought him in January and took a chance. Liverpool were desperate to get rid at that point.
