Surely there is a better left back out there across Europe then Brady and Schlupp for £10m. At this point in time the whole 'premier league' experience can be thrown out the bloody window.
As long as they know how to tackle get them in! Better then Fryers and Kelly already |

Isn't the problem here that BFS can have no expectation of any sort of extended tenure. The ave survival period for a Premier manager (excluding Arsenal) is 18 mths. In addition to that statistical certainty, he is on a mega bonus for avoiding relegation this season and the chance to walkaway after a short period without penalty (I assume the latter). So there is little benefit in him worrying about FFP over the 3 years or future budgets or squads. It's almost certainly in his interests to buy the most experienced, best quality (expensive) players he can persuade the Chairman to buy. Costly and almost certainly representing higher cost and a loss on sale.
Whereas Parish has no option to balance the books, now and in the future because it would damage his job prospects, his investment and his lifelong club. His natural leaning being towards younger players that can at some point be sold to recoup some cash and probably cheaper up front. Professionalism should close some of that gap but not a great deal. Worse still would be if BFS has any conduit to the US investors where he can no doubt play off the 3 investors against each other which would be time wasting if nothing else. TP followed this behaviour to a T and BFS will be a lot closer to that mindset than Pardew who I think genuinely was looking at a long stay (irrelevant of what you think of him). SP's job is I expect exponentially more difficult. I am not suggesting they can't get through that dilemma and TBH they have little choice and it is the same for all/most clubs other than Arsenal. Fans, with no influence at all sit there wanting 'everything' but without error/failure and little to no concerns for the constraints other than after the event when there is moral indignation about what owners did with their own money. Easy....

Since we have been in the premier league the only signing which was off the beaten track which you could classify as any sort of success is Souare. |

Your looking at this all wrong.
Sign Brady Play 3-4-3 with wardy and Brady wide in the middle 4 and we have cover across the whole squad.it would be just a simple ER matter of buying better than we have to replace. Great minds clearly don't think alike......Am i the only one seeing this?? |

Think we are signing Brady then a left back.
This looks very much on cards. |

Concur Sydenham but at least Kelly can put him under some genuine competition. Other than no left back of note in the current starting eleven ward and punch both need to be challenged

Have I missed something or have Leicester cooled their interest? Thought they were in pole position for this one

Still want someone with his ability on the left. Good winger who can defend and great free kicks. Just what we have been missing.

So yes, 3-4-3 might well work if we were thinking of bringing in Jordi Alba. But it's Robbie Brady we're talking about, even though some people are describing his abilities as though he were Jordi Alba |

People are just going straight to the last post and responding with "I don't think he's a LB" This is followed by a rebuttal and the circle begins again.

Option a) - They're all dead Dave..... Option b) - But Dave, I don't think he is a left back Option c) - But Dave, maybe we are planning to use him further up the pitch Please choose one option and repeat process after 15 secs. No choice should repeat the previous one. Thanks Dave .....

We can only spend so much with regards to FFP rules, and also taking into account how difficult it can be to bring players in during the Jan window just generally, our plan may be to target versatile players who can cover multiple positions, i.e. leftwing and leftback.

Ward is not good enough to play on the right of a 3-4-3.
