Numerous reasons to be optimistic

Easy to feel that we have been hard done by, luck is against us and with each passing game we move closer to the Championship....I couldn't see things more differently....I truly believe this is going to be a really positive season in which the club continues its positive development....
All we need to do over the next 26 games (78 pts) is score more points than the following Swansea City 4 pts WHU 5 pts and WBA 6 pts an average of out scoring these opponents by between 0.15 and 0.23 per game.....something I would like to think is wholly achievable.
Other factors include that in the first dozen games we have played 5 of the top 6 in fact 6 of the first 7 of which all but one has been away from home....Swansea have only played 3 of the top 6 WHU 4 of the top 6 and WBA again only 3 of the top 6.......add our current home form unbeaten in three is really positive, factor in that every time Zaha scores we fail to lose and you start getting really positive signs for the season ahead......add the massive factor that WHU have got Moyes and WBA may well get Pardew and that Clement is finding his Derby form and all looks rosy......so as the festive season begins I for one am wholly optimistic.

we haven't kept a clean sheet, we have the two worst keepers in the division, we have by a mile the worst GD, we haven't scored away from home, we have 5 points from 12 games on current form we might have 10 points from 24 games, how do you suggest we overcome these obstacles?

I don't think we will go down but all I keep reading is a bunch of excuses and ifs and buts....

Facts are we are bottom of the table because we deserve to be. We have to make our own luck to get out of it. At the moment it's looking highly unlikely especially as we only took 2 points from two of the worst teams I've seen play at this level since promotion.

We can get out of this but please stop with the excuses.....We are where we are let's deal with that reality and stop playing the victim card of poor old hard done by Palace.

The footballing gods are not looking after us at the moment. We have been playing well and if Iím honest some good stuff over the last few games better then we have ever played in the Prem we need some luck now and then we will get some momentum and then who knows.

My opinion and experience is that luck generally balances out over the course of the season. We have been playing pretty well in recent times and I do think we will get on a run v soon. Let’s hope it starts Saturday for all our sakes!

We really haven't we played better under Sam. But performances are improving which is encouraging. But we need to turn it into wins as we are badly falling short at the moment where it really counts.

We had a bad start but that is all it was and that was purely down to missing key players and having to field a weakened team.

With those missing players back Palace are a different team and have started picking up points and scoring goals.

We have had no easy away games so far and have in fact already played 4 of last years top 5 in our first 6 away games.

Let us see where we are with 10 games to go before worrying about relegation not worry after just 12 as there are still 26 games left.

Whenever I read your posts it's almost as if I've been watching a completely different season....

Are we giving the rest of the league a head start or something?

And what on earth is an 'easy away game'?? Haven't seen one of those for years.

Only a matter of time before someone comes on here saying Stoke is a 'must win game'.

Wasn't 'purely' down to missing key players, it was down to a shit managerial appointment and ignoring the fact that the squad needed strengthening, and boy does it show.

What is your idea of an easy game in the Premier League ?

In effect Palace's loss of their star players did give clubs a big advantage over us but there now are teams playing worse than us which is why the gap is closing as our form is improving since our key players returned from injury.

We are a lot better now. Shit refereeing and individual mistakes have hurt us these past 4 games. It is up to the players to deliver up to Xmas. I think we are due a long good unbeaten run starting on Saturday.

Very true. By far the better team against Spurs, Chelsea, Spammers and Everton. Need to start taking more of our chances and cut out the silly mistakes

The U18s are looking like a good bunch of players, and if we go down the leagues we can more likely give debuts.

That is a reason to be optimistic.
