Only at Palace do you...

...hold a minute of silence to remember heroic men and women who sacrificed their lives and leave hype music booming out of the away end of the Arthur.

It was the PA system then? I did wonder

Sounded like the music they have in the away concourse.

May be better than the normal shouting and singing you normally get when people on the concourse have no idea the minutes silence is happing.

I did notice it but it isn't really important either. A minute of silence is about people reflecting and it was obviously just a mistake. No harm done or intended.

Which is what occurred initially at Chelsea last week.

Given these stadiums have PA systems, i think it would be helpful if they gave a short announcement 5-10 minutes beforehand reminding fans there will be a minute’s silence and encouraging fans to take their seats early if they wish to participate.

In my experience, people have usually made noise not because they are inconsiderate, but because they’ve forgotten it’s happening and have come up the steps, singing away with their mates. They stop when they reach the stewards and other fans shoosh them.

A polite warning, much like the 5 minute bell at the theatre, would help. It only needs to be given on the rare occasion we hold a minute’s silence. The more common minute’s applause at football doesn’t carry the same risk of being spoilt by latecomers.

We provide a nightclub for away supporters? No wonder they have a better time at Selhurst than the home fans.

You’d think the 3 points takeaway gift they also receive is more than generous enough already.

I was slightly late as I was stuck in the shit traffic around the ground but on the radio they commented that the minutes silence had been observed 'immaculately by both sides' so obviously didn't pick up on any booming music.

Anyway - it wasn't striclty speaking a minutes silence as there was a bugle playing, or did that represent the start or end of the minutes silence?

So what actually goes on in there? We play loud, euphoric, uplifting music in the away section?

Sell 3 pies of which 1 is a veggie one and 1 a vegan one. Surely a veggie would eat a vegan one and there should be more choice for meat eaters seeing as they still make up the bulk of society, especially one in the rowdy end of the Holmesdale

I still find it utterly bizarre that we put the away fans right behind one of the linesman. I get why we moved the away fans in the first place, but the original extra costs were meant to be £175k... we’re now in a position where we are playing individual players that in just over a week.

Move them back and do it now, and watch the atmosphere improve.

This is completely off topic but the away fans should be put in the area of the ground they can least affect the match. Not behind a linesman or goalkeeper and ideally with a stand that funnels the noise upwards not to the pitch.

As an Arthur season ticket holder, it's very frustrating that a lot of work has gone into the away end and making it hospitalable for our guests from other clubs. Steve Parish has even celebrated these developments, yet those Palace fans in the same stand spend every half time in a crush for the toilet or getting a drink, meaning you miss the first five minutes of the second half.

I gave the same answer to the Block E plunder. Put the away fans and the "singing" fans will be quite happy to stay in Blocks A & B.
