When Ashley has more than enough money to live a life of luxury forever, why would you want the hassle of dealing with fickle noocastle fans and their 'slags or 'slapper's whatever he used to describe Toon women.
He hasn't really enamoured himself to the Toon faithful. Noocatle is in a strong financial position,...but the lack of potential buyers is probably due to Ashley's personality. He'd be better off splashing some cash on a decent PR firm, and he might well find that's the best money he's ever spent. Least complimentary compliment. Ever.

Suppose the Geordies acquired some Gulf Arab princeling, who proceeded to spend half a billion, would that qualify them for "the big six" (as in, demanding a bigger share of the Prem loot), and who would be favourites to be "relegated", Liverpool or Spurs ?

Interesting to see how this goes it could be a roaring success or we could have another Coventry in the making , I'd like to see who are the major investors into this , but have hedge funders ever been nothing but a disaster waiting to happen when they purchase football teams ?

Don't see how this plays out apart from a quick flip in a few years, no real growth potential there, unless they add even more terrible seats, a mile away from competing for honours, all it says is buy and spend another £500m to get in the top 6. What happened to the I won't sell till we win something? |

I think there’s potential there. Wiith Sunderland’s apparent demise, they’re the biggest club in the North East of England by a considerable margin and are well supported. What will probably always hold them back is this though.

I think he means the bar is set so low by Mike Ashley that anyone would be better

Why buy a football club.
1. Too much money and want to do something with it/promote other business etc (Man City) 2. You are a fan and perhaps fall in category 1 (Simon Jordan, or so he thought) 3. You are a fan and want to save the club (Parish) 4. Run it as an investment Problem with all of the above, without breaking into the top 4, or regularly selling your best players or academy products, like Southampton have in recent years, not sure how TV money alone can make you a profit.

If Staveley is fronting it, then its almost certainly a sovereign investment out of the middle east - yet another football club owned by a country
