The inclusion of Sako just says, even more so than ever, that our academy right now is just so unimportant that we may as well not even have one.

I would rather we gave a youngster the experience than keep playing someone who is detrimental to the team.

Admittedly Sako never made the impact you'd hope he would make but i prefer to make a fairer assessment of his game when he eventually gets a start in a game (more impacts like today and others, then it may be academic). Its pretty difficult getting yourself into a game at any level especially when an impact is needed in chasing a game as i'm sure a few of the porky BBS'ers could testify when they are out there rolling back the years in the Sunday league. Again he's being played well out of position and being expected to be a saviour in a role completely alien to him, yet here we are steaming into another scapegoat on the back of a fifteen minute appearance.

The problem for Roy is he just does not have any other alternatives that offers him a physical presence in the team, so when he needs to change things around he calls on our useless super sub, it is the sorry state of affairs we are in currently.
Whatever is to happen come the summer as to which division we are in, one thing for sure is there needs to be a long overdue major clear out of the deadwood within the club, this has been so highlighted this season when change was called upon.

If we make a run down the wing, he should literally just stand in the middle of the box, be given the ball at his feet, and allow him to blast it in. Out of the 20 hooves that will go over, one should at least be on target, and another one might go in.

Apart from that, can't see much else he could do.

It is entertaining watching him close up though. It's like a brick wall running at you. I'm pretty sure I can hear his breathing.

This is a bit of a straw man argument. No one is asking or expecting him to be a saviour. He is merely being expected to be able to pass to a player in red and blue. Or remain onside. Or track back rather than ball watch. Put in the odd tackle, that sort of thing. He may only play as a substitute but it isnt unreasonable to expect a sub, presumably with more energy than his opponents who have started the game, to contribute in a basic way to the teams effort. Sako has entirely failed to do this in each performance of 2017.

His only role is as a marker of squad quality. His presence on the pitch is an indicator that something has gone badly wrong in terms of recruitment and/or injuries. Which isnt his fault, he doesnt have a bad attitude (but could lose some weight). Hes just nowhere near good enough.

Like too many of our squad he's out of his depth, better players like Wilf and Cabaye have been let down by the club because we haven't added enough quality, I wouldn't blame Wilf for clearing off.

Sako for all his huff and puff is one of the worst players of the last 5 years, even Jordan Mutch has more technical ability.

For someone this bad how was he netting goals in the championship with Wolves?

He's not a forward. Never has been and never will be.

I think he tries his best and I don't hate him but he isn't any where near good enough for the premier league

I am not convinced he would be a lot better now either in the championship despite his goals for wolves, he will be 30 this season and maybe he is past his own peak

he looks like he is out of breath almost as soon as he has come on and looks slower and less energetic than the players who have been on for more than an hour

Has anyone seen a winger, let alone a football player with his build?

I’m ******* sick to death of seeing his name along with the likes of Delaney, Lee, Kelly, Mutch, Puncheon & Riedewald in the Match day squad. **** them all off & free up some money for a decent ******* striker!

Not entirely sure what hes done to not be on the list.

Hes just another average squad filler & weve already got too many. This was money we could of saved to put towards a striker or 2.

I'm not usually one to write off players altogether, but Sako is not good enough for the Premier League, never has been and never will be.

Same with Chungy and Mutch. We need to be more ruthless in moving these players out of the club when given the opportunity.
