Nothing to do with all this GAA nonsense, but how are you doing, young Tyrone Eagle?

Yeah. That 5 minute spell against Kildare was a killer. Early holidays again this year I'm afraid.
Could be Galway's year.

We have a punchers chance as ever, and have rattled Kilkenny before, but I doubt it.

If we can press their half back line to cut off decent supply to their forwards, you never know. But they still have mercurial talent sprinkled throughout the field (Alyward, Reid, Hogan, Larkin, Power, Fennelly) whilst we are heavily reliant on Canning scoring goals and getting good service. I'm not sure if Flynn will be fit.

I might stick a fiver on the draw, but that's more in hope than design.

Keeping well WCB, keeping the head down and being sensible these days. How's things with yourself?

SC do you think the Galway boys can sort out these Orangemen from the North on the 12th weekend?

I'd expect Tyrone to beat Meath as the Meath defence is a bit leaky.

Was texting CPFC Guy recently, he mentioned that you're team had drawn his in the London championship SC, are you still togging out?

Also, how are Fulham Irish doing with Peter the great involving himself?

I'm well, TE, ta, and am glad you're keeping yourself out of trouble! I was telling SC about a new colleague of mine who has an Arabic name and sounds like a rudeboy, but supports Westmeath as that's where his old dear is from. He was very impressed with their recent victory over the local rivals, but fears for them against the jacks.

but it's worth a quick watch. Is he a South Londoner by any chance? apparently there's a school that has a seriously talented GAA team that has only local kids playing. wouldn't surprise me if he was an alumi of that school.

I fear for everyone against the jacks, seriously talented side.

Advice given to Galway fans travelling to Armagh on the 11th was 'when you get to Armagh, don't assume that the first ruck of lads you see dressed in orange will be up for the craic'. I've told the old lad to stick a couple of hurls on the back seat if he decides to make the 3hr trip to the Athletic Grounds from Connemara.

If we can keep Clarke quiet we have a chance. But our defence is our weakest unit. All the nordies got a home draw for that weekend.

I'm not looking any further than this Sunday when God willing Galway will take the Bob O'Keeffe Cup home to Connacht.

As for myself, I'm semi retired now. I've signed on to play again, but haven't trained once yet. If the lads need a sticky cornerback then I've told them to call me, but they've coped without me so far. That suits me fine, I'm getting too old to commit to the Parish at full tilt and it got a lot harder with the kids and stuff. I made my mark on the London GAA scene so can hold my head high.

Early days for Fulham Irish as yet. They're not tearing the place up anyway.

He's from North London (or should we call it the North of London?) but I'll show him the link tomorrow, ta.

What are the predictions for the cork v kerry game on Sunday? Being a Cork native, we are in the unchartered territory of having zero confidence in our footballers or hurlers at the moment. Music to the ears of any non-rebel.
But i guess the magic of a Cork/Kerry Munster meeting can produce any result. Prediction: A brave performance by Cork, but kerry to see it home with 4 or 5 points to spare.

Tell him to have a sliothar in the car as well, that'll stop the cops trying to charge him with having an offensive weapon

Are you holidaying over this way this year?

I'd fancy Galway to beat Armagh, but can't see past Kilkenny this week.

Cork are an enigma. They're seriously talented but often bottle big games, especially big games v Kerry. So, I'd pick Kerry to win but hope that Cork turn up.

As for the hurlers. That's an even bigger enigma. They could win the lot, but something always seems to hit them-bad luck perhaps to stop them achieving a Liam McCarthy.

By the way, the Sam Maguire is currently residing in a London pub, I'll find out the name if anyone wants a photo.*

*SC you will have to sign a disclaimer being a Galway man and all. After all, your boys booting the cup up street in 2001 is why it's all bent (allegedly)

Ya. Agree on your take on the footballers. Depends what team turns up. I can take losing to Kerry, but its the absolutely spineless performances (last year v Kerry) that gets me. And its always against Kerry!!

The hurlers aren't an enigma. They are just missing around 2-3 leaders to be an All-Ireland winning team. If only we had this team with a Diarmaid O'Sullivan at full-back and a Brian Corcoran at full-forward, that would be a an all-ireland winning team!!

Tyrone v Meath should be a cracker. Pick of the ties IMO. There's going to be shamozzles in this one. Lots of fighting and cards, mixed in with some quality football. Home advantage should tip it for Tyrone. Plus the fact that Meath are going to be a long time recovering from that defeat. That hurt deep.

St Paul's Academy. They're twinned with my club Dulwich Harps. Patrick was a good little corner forward. Very aggressive for his size, which may have driven his stage name.

Pat Winston the headmaster can often be seen at the back of block D in the holmesdale.
And Mickey Harte loves our club.

Google Dulwich Harps, there's a rake of pictures in the gallery of our all conquering under age teams, mickey harte, and some of me.
