I was thinking the same, surely if a member of the 25 is lost to injury then you should be able to replace them.

Jesus Christ - does it really matter?

Geezer could have died and you're worried about the 25 man squad.

In any case - engage brain - is it the case that any other squad is able to simply replace a player whenever they can't play for whatever reason? Did we replace Bolasie when his dad died? Did we replace McArthur when he had a baby? Did we replace so and so when they got the shits one weekend?

Chill out love, how are any of your examples the same as losing a player long term? Has nothing to do with brain engagement, I'm questioning the rules not asking you for the history of our recent absences.

Since when has anyone been allowed to replace a long term injury.

In any case my point was it's irrelevant.

Just glad the fella's alright and wish him the best.

I saw a picture of the wreckage, it must have some impact to have caused that Merc to crumble as it did as they are built like a tank, very luck boy to have got out of that alive. Has anybody heard the cause of the crash, and the latest condition of Pape? just get well soon.

That's the whole point of a 25, otherwise what would be the point in having that rule in the first place, and the number being higher than the 18 required for a matchday.

Speedy recovery though Pape!

In the mirror report it says

"Eye-witnesses at the scene said the Mercedes appeared to have crossed the central reservation before the cars crashed head-on."

Eye-witness in probably the loosest terms ever.

They seem to be more and more made up nowadays and probably pulled from some crappy twitter post, rather than what somebody has actually seen with their very own eyes.

No doubt, here will be another 'Eye Witness' account, saying something completely different in the next reports.

That's not likely surely? Unless the central reservation isn't in place due to roadworks.

Can't be, the central reservation is intact all the way back and he's on the correct side of the road. More likely both cars clipped going the same direction then he's hit the central reservation.

Eye-Witness

Blow out perhaps? Can drag a car sideways. Surely you don't get all the way into oncoming traffic by not paying attention? Far too much time and warning to correct it.. Ie rough ground etc

It can be pretty difficult to tell what has happened after a crash just by the car positions because you have no idea if they have spun around or whatever.

The car looks like it ends up straddling the reservation from the photo below. The right wing has taken a hit as it's bent. The roof was taken off after the crash by the fire service (before anyone panics). You have to assume that right side was jammed up and the door couldn't be opened and so they took off the roof as a precaution rather than drag him across the car for obvious reasons. But trying to guess what happened beforehand is anyone's guess. I am just relieved everyone seems to be alive as it could have been far worse. Just got my fingers crossed that there is no serious impact on Souare's future health (I don't think anyone else was hospitalised).
